Did Rashee Rice immediately emerge as a true WR1 in fantasy football after his season debut on Sunday?

There’s certainly an argument to be made that he did. The Kansas City Chiefs wideout caught seven passes (on 10 targets) for 42 yards and two touchdowns against the Las Vegas Raiders, good for 23.2 fantasy points in PPR formats.

Rice was trending toward being a dynamic option for the Chiefs—and fantasy players—in his first two seasons, with 103 catches for 1,226 yards and nine touchdowns in 20 games. He was excellent in four games last year before injury cut his season short, with 24 catches for 288 yards and two scores.

There was little doubt that once he was healthy he would be the top option in this passing game. Travis Kelce is no longer an elite option at tight end, while Xavier Worthy is more of a gadget play option and deep threat and players like Hollywood Brown, JuJu Smith-Schuster and Tyquan Thornton aren’t leading men.

All of those names listed are probably why you should still consider Rice more of a high-end WR2 option than a true WR1, however. Patrick Mahomes spread the ball to nine different pass-catchers on Sunday, with an array of options that makes Kansas City’s passing game tough to defend but also could limit some of Rice’s target share on a week-to-week basis. (There’s also the fact that this was a pretty porous Las Vegas secondary he was facing to consider.)

Yes, he led the team in receptions on Sunday and had twice as many targets as any of his teammates. It’s just hard to consider him in an upper tier of fantasy wideouts that includes players like Puka Nacua, Ja’Marr Chase, Justin Jefferson, CeeDee Lamb, Amon-Ra St. Brown or Jaxon Smith-Njigba, among others.

Whether Rice can crack into that next tier remains to be seen, but it’s probably not wise to pay WR1 prices to acquire him until you know he’ll regularly be matching Sunday’s upside. Rice isn’t going to find the end zone every week—his receptions, yardage and target share are going to determine his ultimate worth.

For now, only pay WR2 prices to acquire him. If you’re the seller, however, you may be able to fetch WR1 prices after Sunday.

The Austrian Menace made his WWE debut on the October 18 NXT live event in Dade City Armory.

In the night’s opening match, WWE introduced The Austrian Menace in a singles match against LFG’s Shiloh Hill. The bout gave the fans in Dade City fresh faces. Hill, a former college football star, was the fan favorite.

The character Austrian Menace is played by 28-year-old former judoka Aaron Fara. Interestingly, Fara has represented his home country at the 2024 Paris Olympics in the men’s judo 100 kg weight class and mixed team events. It was reported in 2024 that he had signed with WWE on a developmental contract, and earlier this year, he officially retired from judo after posting a video on his Instagram account

Meanwhile, Shiloh Hill has a compelling personal story and mentorship from the beloved WWE Hall of Famer, The Undertaker. He also has a significant following and positive fan reaction in his NXT journey. While his opponent, The Austrian Menace, played the heel in this equation. Hill picked up the victory, impressing the fans.

WWE NXT Dade City Results, October 18, 2025

WWE’s NXT live event in Dade City on October 18 featured some of the brand’s top stars in action.

Evolve Women’s Champion Kendal Grey defended her title in the penultimate bout of the night, while Oba Femi, Myles Borne, Chase U, and Dark State headlined the show. Elsewhere on the card, TNA Knockouts Champion Kelani Jordan also had a match.

Below are the full results of NXT Dade City, thanks to WrestlingBodyslam.com on X/Twitter.

1. Shiloh Hill defeats The Austrian Menace

2. Carlee Bright, Bayley Humphrey, and Dani Sekelsky def. Nikkita Lyons, Layla Diggs, and Masyn Holiday

3. OTM (Bronco Nima and Lucien Price) def. High Ryze (Tyson Dupont and Tyriek Igwe)

4. TNA Knockouts Champion Kelani Jordan def. PJ Vasa

5. Tavion Heights and Tyra Mae Steele def. Channing (Stacks) Lorenzo and Arianna Grace

6. Josh Briggs def. Drake Morreaux

7. WWE Evolve Women’s Champion Kendal Grey def. Kali Armstrong to retain the belt

8. Oba Femi, Myles Borne, and Chase U (Uriah Connors and Kale Dixon) def. The Dark State (Cutler James, Dion Lennox, Osiris Griffin, and Saquon Shugars).

While there have been several releases in recent times from Evolve and LFG, the Stamford-based promotion obviously does care about the rising stalwarts it has retained. Among the stars that have parted ways with the company is one talent who seemingly disrespected WWE by immediately sending a public message to rival promotion AEW’s CEO, Tony Khan.

Athletes like Shiloh Hill are a good example of the ones WWE values, as he got some time to shine in Dade City. As for the main event, Dark State continues to get the spotlight, while Oba Femi might just be the biggest NXT name today.

blankFrosh Jane Hedengren (center) blasted off with the pack, soon reached the front and by 2½M was building an enormous lead. (SHAWN PRICE)

COLUMBIA, MISSOURI, October 17 — Jane Hedengren, making a long, sweeping left turn at about 4900m, took a good look over her left shoulder at any possibly pursuers.

There was no one there.

And no wonder. The BYU frosh would cross the 5K mark of the Gans Creek XC Course moments later in 15:36.0. She had just covered the fifth kilo of the 6K Pre-Nationals course in a blistering 3:01.5, increasing her gaping margin over Clemsonâ€s Silvia Jelego from 7.6 to 19.2 seconds.

Every question as to whether Hedengren would make her BYU debut here at Gans, whether she would run steady with her teammates or push hard to win, and whether she would pick up where she left off in June — with the greatest distance campaign a prep girl has ever authored — had been answered with a resounding “YES!â€

The 9-time HS recordsetter would go on to smash the course record in 18:42.3, more than 23 seconds up on Jelego (19:05.8). She had made it immediately clear she would run at or near the lead from the start and went with Jelego when she started to break it open in the second K. Then Hedengren began running purposefully just after 2K (Jelego 6:17.7), alternating the lead with the Kenyan. At about 2M (9:21.7 3K) she took control for good.

It was in that fourth kilometer, though, where Hedengren really showed how good she could be.

Now the Timpview, Utah, grad could hardly be called an NCAA favorite yet, not with the likes of defending champ Doris Lemngole and â€24 runner-up Pamela Kosgei out there (and yet to debut this fall). But anyone who argued Hedengren would rank high among the nationâ€s top 10 NCAA runners right away this fall would appear well vindicated.

Nearly as impressive were Coach Diljeet Taylorâ€s No. 1 defending champ Cougars as a team. Closing hard on Jelego at the end after running a solitary 4th much of the way was Riley Chamberlain, taking 3rd in 19:08.6. Taylor Rohatinsky ran in the top 10 after 2K and finished 6th, while Jacey Farmer, Lexi Goff and Nelah Roberts — all well outside the top 30 at 2K — surged all the way to 7th, 8th and 10th in the end.

Hence, BYU crushed the field with 25 points, 145 ahead of No. 19 Villanova (170). The Wildcats, in turn, had chased host No. 21 Missouri as a team all race long, finally surpassing them in the last K. The Tigers did hold off No. 30 Tennessee, 216–219.

Tennessee frosh Mary Ogwoka, who broke away with Hedengren and Jelego in the second kilo, held 4th (19:27.6) after getting passed by Chamberlain. Libertyâ€s Allie Zealand rounded out the top 5 in 19:40.4, just ahead of Rohatinsky.

Many had hoped to see whether No. 3 Florida could challenge BYU in the team battle, but the Gators — who also ran here in Septemberâ€s Gans Creek Classic — did not run their top 4 and finished just 13th in the 38-team field (though they were top 6 through 4 runners).

And, of course, it goes without saying that at least one or two of the Florida quartet of Hilda Olemomoi, Judy Chepkoech, Tia Wilson and Desma Chepkoech would have battled Hedengren and/or challenged for top 10 individual spots. They ran as a group in the meet here last month, finishing 5-7-8-9 while the Volunteer Ogwoka was 2nd behind Washington Stateâ€s Rosemary Longisa in that earlier meet.

Ray Parlour’s 13-year stint at Arsenal saw him rack up more than 450 appearances and score 32 goals as the ‘Romford Pele’ proved he was more than just a cult favourite in north London.

His everyman quality would serve him well with the fans, but as his career progressed, so did his leadership abilities as he became one of Arsene Wenger’s unsung heroes.

Parlour would hoist up nine major trophies with the Gunners – but which games meant the most to him?

Anfield

Parlour made his debut at Anfield in 1992

Liverpool 2-0 Arsenal, First Division, 1992

“My professional debut. At that stage, you’re used to playing reserve games in front of 150 people, then you’re suddenly given your big chance. I made my debut at Anfield – such an iconic ground. You don’t get much more daunting than one of the best stadiums in the world. A few days before, George Graham told me I’d get my chance and, honestly, I just tried not to think about it too much, because I wouldn’t have slept with all the nerves and excitement.

“I remember my dad came to watch – he sat in the directors’ box and said he was so proud to see his boy running out at Anfield. That one means a lot to me.”

Arsenal 4-0 Everton, Premier League, 1998

“Arsene Wenger’s first Double and a brilliant season for me. The Everton game, when we clinched the title, sticks out. We battered them and Tony Adams scored with a lovely half-volley.

“I put in one of my best performances that day, running my socks off, even though I didn’t score. I won Arsenal’s player of the season that year – that’s no easy feat up against Dennis Bergkamp, Marc Overmars and Nicolas Anelka.

“But I played my part in an iconic season. I was one of the Invincibles too, but felt at my best during the Double campaign. As soon as a game finished, I just couldn’t wait for us to play the next one.”

Arsenal 2-0 Chelsea, FA Cup Final, 2002

“Growing up in my house, the FA Cup final was everything. It was the biggest game of the year and one of the only live games you could watch on TV at the time. My parents were really into it, and I’d sit with them and my brothers every year.

“To later play in those games was massive for my whole family. I’d played in the 1993 FA Cup Final, which we won in a replay against Sheffield Wednesday, but I scored in the 2002 final with Chelsea – a nice curling goal too. Scoring in an FA Cup final on your way to winning the trophy is everything that you dreamed of as a kid. One of the best days I’ve ever had.”

Catcher Gabriel Davalillo comes from a long line of baseball players from Venezuela.

His grandfather Vic played 16 seasons in the big leagues. His uncle Pompeyo was also a big leaguer. His father David spent five years in the minors with the Angels. His brother David Jr. is a righthander in the Rangers organization.

Following a strong offensive showing in his debut campaign, Gabriel looks to be the next Davalillo to carve out a successful career in professional baseball.

“He’s grown up around the game, (which has) certainly benefited him and his career,” Angels assistant GM Joey Prebynski said. “He has a great foundation with his family and the baseball background.”

A bat-first catcher, Davalillo was the Angels’ top international signee in 2025 at $2 million. He immediately exhibited his offensive prowess in the Dominican Summer League, slashing .302/.408/.518 with seven home runs in 41 games.

An aggressive hitter, Davalillo demonstrated the ability to hit for power with a 90th percentile exit velocity of 102.5 mph, while limiting his in-zone whiff rate to about 10%. That translated to a strikeout rate of 12.4%.

“He has a tremendous amount of offensive upside from a run-production standpoint,” Prebynski said. “He does a great job of being able to control the zone. He has plate coverage and the ability to stay in the zone and stay on plane. There is natural rhythm and timing.

“Those are the things Gabriel does really well.”

The Angels are less certain about the 17-year-old’s future behind the plate.

Davalillo has an above-average arm, but his slow transfers held him back in the DSL, where he threw out just six of 34 basestealers.

The Angels moved Davalillo to third base during instructional league to add versatility to his profile and manage his workload behind the plate. The plan is for him to split time between the two positions next season.

“There’s different ways to look at him,” Prebynski said. “There’s athleticism. There’s body control. There’s physicality and there’s strength. When he has those foundational things we feel good about where he’s trending.”

Philadelphia 76ers superstar center Joel Embiid is reportedly set to see some game action before the start of the 2025-26 NBA regular season.

According to NBA TV’s Chris Haynes, Embiid has been cleared to play in Friday’s preseason game against the Minnesota Timberwolves, which is also the Sixers’ preseason finale.

PHLY’s Kyle Neubeck reported on Oct. 8 that Embiid had resumed 5v5 activity but “still needs to check more boxes” before he could be designated game ready.

The following week, Embiid showed off his progress when he joined the Sixers for a team scrimmage.

The Sixers are hoping to have Embiid back for the 2025-26 campaign after the knee injuries that have cut short his last two seasons.

Embiid was limited by multiple injuries to appearing in just 19 games during his 2024-25 season, which ended when he underwent arthroscopic surgery on his left knee in April.

The procedure took place just over one year after Embiid underwent surgery to repair the meniscus in the same knee the February prior.

The former NBA MVP saw his offense drop during his limited availability between those two procedures, averaging 23.8 points one season after racking up 34.7 points per game.

The Sixers will hope to see Embiid return to his previous All-Star production levels when he returns.

Although Embiid didn’t commit to a recovery timeline during season-opening media availability in September, he told reporters his recovery was “on schedule” and that he hoped to play “consistently” in his 10th NBA season.

Whether or not Embiid is available for the Oct. 22 season opener against the host Boston Celtics, the Sixers will hope he can help the team bounce back from a disappointing 24-win season by remaining healthy and available for a significant part of the upcoming campaign.

The biggest chase of the baseball card year is back, as Topps has announced 2025 Topps Chrome Update will be available for presale beginning Nov. 10.

While the Nov. 10 preorder date could change—many recent releases have seen preorder and on-sale dates moved around—Baseball America is here in the meantime with a rundown of items for collectors to get excited about in the upcoming release.

MLB Debut Patches For 2026

Topps Chrome Update annually includes the hugely popular hunt for autographed 1/1 Rookie Debut Patches. This year’s crop likely includes Nick Kurtz, Roki Sasaki and Dylan Crews, with more big names coming. While the formal checklist has not yet been released, based on Baseball America research, those three would be among 276 Debut Patches in this year’s set.

The only MLB Debut Patch officially confirmed by Topps so far is that of Twins outfielder Luke Keaschall, the image of which they have posted on their Chrome Update preview page:

blank

Introduced in 2023, the Debut Patch chase has rapidly become the biggest in the hobby, thanks in large part to the popularity of last year’s Paul Skenes Debut Patch hunt. That card was found by an 11-year-old in California on Christmas morning and later sold at auction to Dick’s Sporting Goods for $1.11 million. Fans can now see the card on display at one of their stores in Pittsburgh.

Assuming this year’s checklist is, indeed, made up of 276 patches, it would be the most ever. Last year’s Topps Chrome Update had 251 patches, and the 2023 release had just 91.

MVP Buyback Program

Here’s another interesting wrinkle in Chrome Update: According to Topps, If Cal Raleigh wins AL MVP, his base card in Chrome Update would be eligible for the Topps MVP Buyback program since he did not have a base card in this year’s Topps Chrome release. The program offers collectors $20 or more in buyback credit for each card of eligible award winners.

The MVP announcement is not likely to come until a few days after the Nov. 10 preorder date.

Rookies & Inserts

In addition to the Debut Patches and possible MVP buybacks, Chrome Update is also known for its huge rookie classes and fun inserts—and this year looks to be no different.

Early product images released by Topps show the Chrome rookie cards for Nick Kurtz and Matt Shaw. Topps says new inserts for 2025 Chrome Update will include Fortune 15, Night Terrors and Power Players.

blank

How To Buy Topps Chrome Update 2025

Given that Topps usually sets preorders to occur about four weeks before a product’s release, collectors should expect a likely sale date during the week of Dec. 8. Stay tuned to Baseball America in the event of updates.

Topps has not yet announced pricing and formats for the preorder. Last year’s preorder included hobby boxes featuring one guaranteed autograph (around $200) and jumbo boxes featuring three guaranteed autographs (around $400).

Once available, you will be able to preorder 2025 Topps Chrome Update here.

NXT tag team Hank Walker & Tank Ledger will experience Japan for the first time when they make their Pro Wrestling NOAH debut this month.

Hank & Tank will be in action at NOAH’s Sunny Voyage 2025 on October 26, taking on Dragon Bane & Alpha Wolf. The show is being held at Hodogaya Public Hall in Kanagawa and will be broadcast live on the Wrestle Universe streaming service.

With both being former college football players, Hank & Tank were put together as a babyface team in NXT starting in 2023. They had a four-month reign with the NXT Tag Team titles earlier this year.

WWE and Pro Wrestling NOAH have a working relationship that has seen NXT wrestlers like Charlie Dempsey, Harlem Lewis, Tavion Heights, and Josh Briggs travel to Japan and get more ring time working in a non-WWE environment. Yoshiki Inamura has also crossed over from NOAH to the NXT roster.

The October 26 NOAH event will be headlined by an eight-man tag match pitting KENTA, Ulka Sasaki, Tetsuya Endo & Hayata against Kaito Kiyomiya, Harutoki, Alejandro & Kai Fujimura.

Tonight’s Ring of Honor TV will feature a former WWE & WCW wrestler making his debut in addition to several other matches.

46-year-old Shannon Moore will take on Blake Christian as part of tonight’s show. Still active on the indies, the former WCW Hardcore Champion will look to make an impression.

After making her AEW debut in August, Isla Dawn returns to the Khan companies in her ROH debut alongside the Grizzled Young Veterans against opponents to be named.

Former MLW Tag Team Champions and ROH Six-Man Champion The Von Erichs will go heads-up against Griff Garrison & Kole Carter of the Frat House.

The aerial artist Sidney Akeem returns to ROH for the first time since last-December as he battles the veteran Alex Zayne.

Wheeler Yuta will look for his seventh straight ROH singles win as he takes on Oro.

The show is rounded out by Diamante vs. Aleah James.

**********

It’s Thursday night and you know what that means! Coming off of the real Thanksgiving weekend, it’s time to serve up a hot slice of Ring of Honor pie!

Sidney Akeem vs Alex Zayne

Akeem is a former Cirque De Soleil performer which is pretty cool. Zayne is very, very red. Also good, but somewhat different. Either way, both of these guys can fly so this should be fun.

Defying convention, the two locked up off the top. They spent a few minutes jumping over each other until Zayne started laying in some chops. Akeem backed up and they hit simultaneous dropkicks, then paused to admire one another.

Akeem hit a running post mule kick, but Zayne responded with a big boot. He threw a few elbows at Akeem, aiming to keep him off his feet. Zayne set Akeem up on the ropes and hit a summersault guillotine to knock him down.

Zayne wrapped Akeem’s leg around his and wrenched it and his wrist at the same time. Akeem fought out of it and sent Zayne to the ropes. Zayne anticipated it and when Akeem charged he hit him with a double knee.

Zayne fought back and hit a big crossbody from the top rope. He then hit a pumphandle elbow slam for a two count. Zayne got to his feet and paintbrushed Akeem before hitting a dropkick to his face. The two traded chops after that until Zayne sent Akeem to the corner for a ripcord hurricanrana.

Zayne went up top for a 450, but Akeem saw it coming and hit a spinning stunner to get the pin.

Match Result: Sidney Akeem defeated Alex Zayne

Perfectly cromulent match. It didn’t really do anything to show off either wrestler’s strengths and I don’t feel it advanced anyone closer to anything, but it wasn’t bad.

-Isla Dawn was interviewed in the back, but interrupted by Mark Sterling and the Premier Athletes. Sterling offered his services to Dawn who shut him down. GRV arrived and the two factions squared off, with the Athletes stepping back.

Mixed Six Person Tag Team Match: Grizzled Young Veterans (James Drake & Zack Gibson) & Isla Dawn vs Carolina Cruz, Gabriel Aeros & Javi

I was genuinely bummed when Dawn’s WWE run came to an end, so it’s great to see her in action here. The Vets make a good team for her and their opponents are also wrestlers.

Drake started off with Javi who did have a size advantage, but Drake was too fast for him. Gibson tagged in and the two double teamed Javi with Gibson wrapping it up with a dropkick from the second rope.

Cruz tagged in which brought in Dawn. The two exchanged a technical series and then Dawn hit and over hand suplex. Cruz hit a backspring elbow but Dawn kicked out at two. Cruz put on a headlock, but Dawn powered out of it with a hard lariat followed by a side suplex.

Aeros tagged in and Dawn gave him a shot for good measure before Drake tagged in. Gibson joined him and threw him at Aeros, then threw Dawn at him for good measure. Gibson and Drake rand the ropes delivering kicks and shots to Javi and Aeros all over the ring.

Dawn grabbed Cruz and locked in a reverse headlock while the veterans hit a High/Low on Aeros to get the pin.

Match Result: Grizzled Young Veterans & Isla Dawn defeated Carolina Cruz, Gabriel Aeros & Javi

After the match, the Premier Athletes jumped the Veterans and Story Denali hit a massive chokeslam on Dawn, spoiling her debut.

Diamante vs Aleah James

This doesn’t mean anything, but the ROH ring announcer really sounds like Howard Finkle this week and it is nice to hear.

Anyway, Diamante likes nothing more than to hurt people and James would like for that not to happen. Diamante had control off the top with a headlock which James reversed. Diamante jumped out of it and punched her in the face.

Diamante grabbed James’ arm and wrenched her to the mat. James flipped out of it though and charged Diamante in the corner, but no one was home. Diamante dropped a big elbow and tried for a pin, but James kicked out at two.

The two traded shots until Diamante started working the arm and shoulder of James, twisting and pulling on it to drag her down to the mat. James started laying shots into Diamante’s midsection so Diamante threw her into the corner.

Diamante lined her up for a charge, but James got her knees up. She hit a crossbody and then a fisherwoman’s suplex for a two count. James tried for another, but Diamante threw her off and hit a German suplex.

Diamante rolled her up, and then hit a bridge suplex for the 1-2-3 and the win.

Match Result: Diamante defeated Aleah James

There is kind of a strange vibe in ROH tonight. The crowd hasn’t been super loud and the matches seem a half step slower. It might just be me, but it definitely feels a little different. We’ll see if that keeps up.

Wheeler Yuta (w/Marina Shafir) vs Oro

Yuta and his hair came through the crowd, with Shafir following, being her usual cheery self. Oro was already in the ring, which did not bode well for the Nigerian-born wrestler.

Yuta went for a wristlock off the top, but Oro kicked it away. Yuta drove Oro into the corner and repeatedly pie faced him until Oro got mad and punched him in the face. Yuta tried an Ankle lock next, but Oro had enough and chopped him.

Oro hit a few arm drags and a spinning headscissor. He threw Yuta to the ground and went for the pin, but Yuta kicked out and started the chopping. Oro gave as good as he got, sending Yuta to the mat. Yuta backdropped Oro out of the ring and into the waiting arms of Shafir who hit a suplex on him on the outside.

Yuta joined them and sent Oro into the barricade with an Irish whip. He tossed Oro back into the ring and hit a clothesline from the top turnbuckle for another two count. Yuta hit a suplex and went up top again to drop a big elbow for another two count.

Oro popped up, but Yuta cut him off, sending him into the corner. Oro hit an around the world from the top and went for a spingboard, but missed and Yuta was able to hit a (right) angle slam. He began jamming elbows into the sholder of Oro before putting on a headlock.

Shafir stared off into the middle distance on the outside.

Oro threw punches into Yuta’s stomach and laid in a series of suplexes. The third was too many though and Yuta broke the chain, just in time to get hit by a cartwheel kick from Oro. He went for the in, but Yuta kicked out.

Yuta hit a hurricanrana into an armbar, wrenching Oro’s arm. Yuta hit a bridge suplex followed by a cattle mutilation. Oro managed to swing his legs around and reach the ropes to break the hold.

Oro charged and Yuta laid him out with a lariat. He went up top, but Oro knocked him off the ringpost and dove after him. Oro threw him back in the ring and hit a facebuster, but only got a two count. Yuta raked the eyes and hit a high knee, knocking Oro cold and getting the pin.

Match Result: Wheeler Yuta defeated Oro

Blake Christian (w/Lee Johnson) vs Shannon Moore

It is genuinely exciting to see the last remaining member of Three Count in an ROH ring. Though he seems more in his Nu Metal phase these days. Christian, as the cranky-half half of the worst-named tag team ever, has been on a tear recently, but Moore looks honestly terrifying.

Christian lured Moore in with an insincere Code of Honor and kicked him in the gut. Moore threw him into the corner, but Christian laid him out with a kick. Every time Moore landed a blow, Christian kicked him about it.

Moore found his flow with a couple of arm drags and hit a spinning heel kick. A back elbow staggered Christian and Moore hit a cross body for a two count.

Christian kicked Moore in the back of the head then sent him outside. Calling his shot, he went for a baseball slide, but Moore ducked and they fought on the outside until Johnson caused a distraction and Christian laid in a superkick.

Leaving Moore on the outside, Christian got back into the ring and shot a screwdriver dive at Moore before throwing him into the barricade. Christian then spent a few minutes strutting on the barricade before throwing Moore back in.

Christian stomped Moore’s knees from a half-surfboard position and hit a quick suplex off the ropes. Christian charged Moore in the corner, but Moore dodged and went up top for a corkscrew moonsault for a two count.

Moore started powering up, but Christian beat him to the top turnbuckle and headscissored him off. Moore charged, but Christian hit a powerslam that would make Dustin Rhodes proud. He sent Moore to the ring apron and Moore kicked him off and delivered a spingboard moonsault of his own.

Moore tossed Christian back into the ring and went up top. He hit a rolling neckbreaker from the top rope, but Christian kicked out at two. Johnson got up on the ring apron to distract the ref and Christian hit Moore right in the three counts with a low blow.

He locked in Vanilla Choke Zero and Moore was forced to tap out.

Somewhere, Tank Abbott wept.

Match Result: Blake Christian defeated Shannon Moore

Rookie patches are about to change the hobby again — only this time in the NBA.

Fanatics recently announced it will include Rookie Debut Patches for players starting with the upcoming NBA season.

Even though the season hasnâ€t begun yet, the chase is already on for the most coveted of all those NBA Rookie Debut Patch cards — the Dallas Mavericks†Cooper Flagg.

The Rookie Debut Patch Autographed card has already become one of the most collectible modern cards. In March, the MLB Rookie Debut Autographed Patch card of Pirates pitcher Paul Skenes sold for $1.1 million to Dickâ€s Sporting Goods.

That sale turned a lot of heads, thrusting modern baseball card collecting into the spotlight — a space long dominated by vintage cards.

The question as we head into the NBA season: Can Flaggâ€s Rookie Debut Patch card beat that number?

Itâ€s quite possible.

There are a couple of elements that could boost Flaggâ€s card over the Skenes record.

The first is the international appeal of the NBA. It has a massive global following, especially in Asia, where many of the most sought-after NBA cards have ended up.

The league has held preseason games in Asia since 2004, including two games in Macau this year that coincided with the Asia Sports Collectors Convention (ASCC). The ASCCâ€s special guest signers were also overwhelmingly former NBA stars, including Dwyane Wade, Stephon Marbury and Kevin Garnett.

Topps added another international layer last week, launching its first NBA product in 15 years — 2025-26 NBA Match Attax — exclusively in China.

Another factor: Many of the top modern card sales have been basketball cards. Of the top five sales in 2025 so far, all have been modern NBA cards, with four of the five sold privately.

Those cards have ranged from $2.3 million to $12.9 million and have featured some of the NBAâ€s all-time greats, including Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, LeBron James and Luka DonÄić.

Adding the layers of a robust international market, and private collectors seeking high-end cards, there may well be a person or group willing to take a gamble on Flaggâ€s Rookie Debut Autographed Patch when it hits the market later this season.

The NBA tips off the 2025-26 season on Oct. 21, with Flagg and the Mavericks’ first game coming on Oct. 22. Itâ€s safe to say many eyes will be on that game as fans wait to see what the newest rookie can do.

If Flagg lives up to the hype, donâ€t be shocked if his card becomes the most expensive Rookie Debut Patch card ever.
