Most WWE Superstars who retire still get the itch to get back in the ring and knock some teeth and Danielle Moinet is no different.

Danielle Moinet, best known by her ring name Summer Rae, was signed to WWE for six years. During this time, her most noteworthy run was as the valet of Fandango, who is now signed to TNA under the ring name Johnny Dango Curtis. After WrestleMania 29, the two paired up, and Fandango continued his rivalry with Chris Jericho. They were an on-screen couple for a whole year, between 2013 and 2014.

Danielle Moinet (FKA Summer Rae) Still Gets The Itch To Make Her WWE Return After The Royal Rumble 2022

In an interview with talkSPORT Boxing, Danielle Moinet reflected on her time in WWE. She said it was her dream growing up, to be part of the sports entertainment capital, which she got to do, and that it was satisfactory. However, Moinet admitted that she still gets the itch to go back.

Oh my gosh! So, I was with WWE for six years, which is a good, solid run. And I’ve been gone for a little bit, went back three years ago for the Royal Rumble – they did not have an all-women’s Royal Rumble when I was growing up – it was my dream. It was everything I wanted to do.

Moinet said that while work was around 300 days a year with no breaks, she still did not feel like it was work. She also emphasized her love for WWE.

We were on the road, gosh, a good 300 days a year. It’s completely non-stop, but it’s what you wanted to do; it doesn’t feel like work. I’m still friends with a lot of the girls and a lot of the guys in WWE, and I still watch it avidly. I’m such a fan, it’s just a part of me. It always will be. And I get the itch to go back all the time,” Danielle Moinet said.

Danielle Moinet entered the 2022 Women’s Royal Rumble in what was a blast from the past moment that WWE tends to do at these events. Her in-ring time was brief, though, as Moinet entered the 30-woman battle royal at #23, and was eliminated shortly thereafter by Natalya.

In an interview some time back, the 41-year-old had disclosed that an in-ring return will not happen. However, she added that there still lies an interest in the sport, and so, Danielle would like to raise young talents by sharing what she learned on the road with WWE.
