Two WWE Superstars are set to team up for the first time.

There have been several unlikely and seemingly random pairings in WWE throughout history. Some of these include William Regal & Eugene, IYO SKY and Zoey Stark, Matt Hardy & The Great Khali, and more. Now, it seems like Jey Uso and Shinsuke will be joining this list.

It was previously announced that WWE Super Show Japan will have back-to-back nights at the RyÅgoku Kokugikan in Tokyo on October 17 and 18. Stars like Gunther, Rhea Ripley, Finn Balor, JD McDonagh, AJ Styles, and more are expected for the Super Show next month.

A few matches were already scheduled for October 17, which include Seth Rollins vs. CM Punk and a triple threat between Giulia, Rhea Ripley, and IYO SKY.

Interestingly, one of the matches mentioned is a tag team between Jey Uso and Shinsuke Nakamura against The Vision’s Bronson Reed and Bron Breakker. Although Jey and Shinsuke have shared the ring multiple times in the past, it will be the first time both stars will be on the same page.

On the October 18 card, CM Punk will join the Jey and Shinsuke duo as they take on The Vision, but with Seth Rollins this time. Kairi Sane will face Giulia, and Rhea Ripley and IYO SKY will go against The Judgment Day’s Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez.

A Former WWE World Champion Will Return To Japan After 14 Years

Although the Stamford-based promotion has been touring different countries lately, it’s still uncommon for the company to keep coming back and forth to Japan. Due to this, a lot has happened for some of its rosters, especially CM Punk.

AS mentioned above, CM Punk is one of the superstars announced for WWE Super Show Japan. This will mark the first time he will compete in the company since RAW’s house show on December 1, 2011, at the Yokohama Arena in Kanagawa, Japan. His previous match saw him defend the World Heavyweight title successfully against Alberto Del Rio.

Before he embarks on his first year with the Houston Rockets, star forward Kevin Durant confirmed a rumor that had been swirling for months.

While speaking at the Game Plan Sports Business Summit on Sept. 16 in Los Angeles, Durant revealed that with the help of his business partner, Rich Kleiman, he blocked a potential trade that would’ve sent him from the Phoenix Suns to the Golden State Warriors at last season’s deadline in February.

“I heard Golden State was in the mix around the trade deadline, but that’s when Rich came into play, and those relationships that we built around the league and also playing in Golden State helped,” Durant said, per Duane Rankin of the Arizona Republic. “We were able to tell them kind of hold off on that.”

Durant also admitted that he was not happy to hear the rumors that the Suns wanted to trade him during the 2024-25 campaign. He remained with the team for the remainder of the year before being sent to the Rockets in a blockbuster trade over the summer.

“Initially, I was a little upset because I felt like we built a solid relationship, me and the Phoenix Suns,” Durant said. “And to hear that from a different party was kind of upsetting, but that’s just the name of the game. So I got over that quickly and was trying to figure out what the next steps were.”

Durant is still seeking his first NBA championship since earning back-to-back titles during his tenure in Golden State, so he will certainly be motivated to guide Houston to the mountaintop during the 2025-26 season.
