Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Liam Coen and San Francisco 49ers defensive coordinator Robert Saleh had to be separated after the Jags’ 26-21 road win on Sunday.
The origin of the confrontation hasn’t been confirmed, but Saleh notably referenced a “legal” sign-stealing system run by Coen on Thursday as the two teams were gearing up to play each other on Sunday (2:50 mark).
“Liam Coen and his staff coming from Minnesota they got legally a really advanced signal stealing system where they always find a way to put themselves in an advantageous situation. They do a great job of it. They formation you to just try to find any nugget they can. We have to be great with our signals, be great with our communication to combat some of those tells we might give on the field.”
Coen was clearly upset at Saleh, even after his team just authored a fantastic upset over the favored (and previously undefeated) 49ers.
San Francisco head coach Kyle Shanahan was asked about the confrontation afterward in his postgame press conference.
“I didn’t see what happened so I’m not sure, but [Coen] shouldn’t be so sensitive,” Shanahan said in part.
The Jags pulled off the upset thanks to big plays, including a 48-yard Travis Etienne Jr. touchdown run and a Parker Washington 87-yard punt return for a touchdown. San Francisco also committed four turnovers to Jacksonville’s zero.
Jacksonville will now host the defending AFC champion Kansas City Chiefs on Monday, Oct. 6. Meanwhile, the 49ers have a quick turnaround to face the Los Angeles Rams on Thursday evening.
WWE referee Daphanie LaShaunn addressed her decision to stop the count when Tiffany Stratton had Nia Jax pinned in the triple-threat match that also involved Jade Cargill on Friday Night SmackDown.
In a post on her Instagram Story, LaShaunn thanked everyone who has been supportive of her and vowed to continue getting better going forward.
“I see all the love,” she wrote. “I’m just human, but I can promise that I strive to always be better. Which will forever be my goal as long as I’m on this journey. I love this just like y’all. That I can swear to you.”
The botch came when Cargill hit Jax with the eye of the storm and went for a cover, but Stratton broke it up and went to steal the pin. LaShaunn’s count got to two and she held up hitting the mat for three, even though Jax never raised her shoulder off the mat.
There was a time when WWE instructed officials to treat pinfalls as a “shoot” and not to hold up the count unless the wrestler actually kicks out, but that reportedly hasn’t been the case for awhile now.
After everyone gathered themselves following the both, Stratton hit Jax with the prettiest moonsault ever for the pin to retain the WWE women’s championship.
It was revealed after the match that Stratton will challenge women’s world champion Stephanie Vaquer for the WWE women’s crown jewel championship at Crown Jewel on Oct. 11.

Shortly after legendary rock ‘n roll star Ozzy Osbourne’s deaththis year, WWE came under fire by his daughter, Kelly Osbourne, who slammed Becky Lynch for cutting a heel promo referencing her father. Former WWE talent Shotzi was asked her take on the controversy during an exclusive interview with “TMZ’s Inside The Ring,” in which she tried to appreciate Kelly’s position as well as why WWE greenlit the promo.
“Like, I feel for Kelly because, like, I was so close to my father when he passed; everything was really sensitive to me about it,” Shotzi admitted. “So, I don’t think that Kelly really meant that, I think she’s just, like, really vulnerable right now.” She then went on to explain that she believes that Lynch was actually putting Ozzy over and that she’s always been a fan of the late rock legend anyway.
“She’s also a heel and Ozzy was like a big part of WWE, like, Hunter loved Ozzy so much,” Shotzi added. “So, I think they kind of just wanted to pay a little tribute to him and then also like s*** on Birmingham.” Despite this, she still pointed out that the timing of the segment was simply off, especially since Kelly and her family were still likely processing the loss of Ozzy at the time. “It was just not the time. I disagree with, like, the timing on that, but I do think that everyone at WWE loves Ozzy as, you know, the world does.”

MVP stepped into an AEW ring for the first time since the “Dynamite” Maximum Carnage special on January 15 when he teamed up with his Hurt Syndicate stablemates Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin in a losing effort to The Demand’s Ricochet and The Gates of Agony at AEW All Out last Saturday. In a recent conversation with “TMZ Sports”, MVP shared his elation with making his in-ring return.
“I felt great,” he said. “You know, more than anything, I enjoy reminding people that MVP is not ‘just a manager’. I’m not a manager like any manager you’ve seen in a very, very long time. I’m not your undersized pipsqueak chicken s*** manager because I’m a 250 pound, over 6 feet tall, multi-time champion, Brazilian Black Belt World Champion. I don’t run away because I can fight and I’m in the business of hurting people for money and I never retired.”
Although Gates Of Agony unsuccessfully challenged Brody King and Bandido for their AEW World Tag Team Championship this past Wednesday on “AEW Dynamite” as The Demand continues their quest capture some gold, MVP did note that The Hurt Syndicate still looked to teach them the difference between demanding respect and commanding it prior before he revealed if fans could expect to see him step back into the ring in the future.
“I just think there’s two things. One, yes, I am back training because I plan to be active in the ring again and I got some big jiu-jitsu matches coming up. So, yeah, my appetite goes up exponentially when I’m training and burning the calories.”

Across social media and WWE programming, CM Punk and Dominik Mysterio have established themselves as enemies, with the former once suggesting that fans throw toilet paper at the younger star. Conversely, Dominik has referred to Punk as a “washed up old f***.” As revealed on “Cold As Balls,” however, their behind the scenes interactions paint quite a different picture.
While appearing on the show hosted by comedian Kevin Hart, Punk was asked to point out WWE wrestlers he viewed as future greats. Admittedly, Punk isn’t too keen on many of them, though he does enjoy engaging with Dominik, who currently holds the WWE Intercontinental Championship.
“I think Bron Breakker is an obvious, bona fide WrestleMania main event superstar,” Punk said. “Actually somebody that’s on the roster that I really do like, I’m kind of his mentor, is Dominik Mysterio. Dominik likes to tell everybody that he hates me and we don’t like each other. But every morning, Dominik starts his day with a phone call to Uncle Phil. That’s me. We talk. We talk about life.”
Since returning to WWE in late 2023, most of Punk’s in-ring encounters with Dominik have taken place at untelevised live events, one of which marked “The Second City Saint’s” first WWE match in nearly a decade. A year later, Dominik then cost Punk a WWE World Heavyweight Championship match against GUNTHER at a live event in Chicago. Rey Mysterio, Dominik’s father, is a long-time friend of Punk’s, even through an intense 2010 storyline that pitted them against each other on WWE television.Â

Brock Lesnar left many WWE fans speechless last weekend when he destroyed John Cena with a half-dozen F5s in the opening contest of WWE Wrestlepalooza. As his former advocate Paul Heyman attests, he also left a number of them crying.
“Here’s what I’ll tell you about Brock Lesnar,” Heyman said on the WWE Wrestlepalooza post-show. “I said it the night after Brock Lesnar conquered The Undertaker’s undefeated streak at WrestleMania, Brock Lesnar is not here to put smiles on people’s faces. Brock Lesnar is here to put tears in the eyes of children.”
The children in reference include those in attendance at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana as well as the thousands watching at home. For this premium live event, however, Cena arrived to the ring with several more while ring announcer Alicia Taylor officially introduced him. In Lesnar’s case, Heyman made a surprise appearance down the entrance ramp to announce him, much like “The Oracle” had done many times before aligning with The Bloodline, and then The Vision.
Lesnar controversially returned to WWE on night two of SummerSlam, and in doing so, laid out Cena with an F5 to set the stage for their eventual in-ring meeting at Wrestlepalooza. Cena and Lesnar had faced off many times in the past, with Lesnar boasting a 4-2 in television singles matches heading into the September 20 PLE. Looking ahead, it has yet to be seen if Lesnar will continue his path of destruction with a new target. It is also unclear whether his reunion with Heyman is temporary or more permanent. Nevertheless, Heyman seems confident that “The Beast” will still have young viewers in tears.
Green Bay Packers edge-rusher Micah Parsons told reporters on Tuesday it would be “painful” sacking former teammate Dak Prescott during Week 4’s matchup between the teams, calling Prescott “my guy” and a “good mentor” during his time in Dallas.
Prescott, of course, is hoping that Parsons doesn’t have the chance.
“I hope it’s not (painful) for me. And I hope he doesn’t get to me,” he told reporters Thursday. “It’ll definitely be fun. It’s one me and my fiancée were just talking about the other day. Just all the reps of practice going against Micah, times when he couldn’t hit me, whether him getting back there, just the trash talk back and forth, me telling him he wouldn’t tackle me anyways, he still can’t bring me down. Just getting to go out there and compete with a guy that that’s a good friend, that I’ve competed with in numbers of ways throughout this building, outside of this building. Just excited to go and have that matchup. But he’s got five guys up front, plus tight ends and running backs that he’s got to get through. Then we’ll worry about if he can get to me.”
There’s a pretty good chance that Parsons will at least get a hit on Prescott—through three contests with the Packers he has six quarterback hits, 1.5 sacks and a tackle for loss. Given that he’s been with the team for less than a month and was given limited snaps to start the season, that’s pretty solid production.
And you have to imagine he’ll be motivated to torment his former team after the Cowboys chose to trade him to Green Bay rather than extending him. Prescott should probably keep his head on a swivel on Sunday night.

This past weekend at WWE Wrestlepalooza, Stephanie Vaquer captured the vacant Women’s World Championship after a hard fought twenty minute battle with IYO SKY, which concluded with the “Dark Angel” hitting a Corkscrew Moonsault to pickup the win. Although Vaquer executed the finisher perfectly, many fans thought she performed a Spiral Tap, which is a move requires the wrestler to deliver a twisting aerial assault and is very similar to the Corkscrew Moonsault. However, it’s also a maneuver that defined the career of former WWE Champion AJ Styles, who clarified on social media that Vaquer performed a Corkscrew Moonsault, not a Spiral Tap.
“It wasn’t the spiral tap. It was phenomenal though.”

Last year, Styles revealed that he removed the Spiral Tap from his in-ring arsenal, as he didn’t believe he was able to perform the move at a high level anymore, and decided to never deliver it again. Additionally, Styles said that he hasn’t performed the move since his days wrestling in TNA, and has also eliminated the Shooting Styles Press from his moveset over the years.
As for Vaquer, her next opponent will be revealed this Friday on “WWE SmackDown” with the winner of the Women’s WWE Championship match between Tiffany Stratton, Nia Jax and Jade Cargill facing her at WWE Crown Jewel. The winner of the matchup at the premium live event will be awarded with the Women’s Crown Jewel Championship. Last year, Liv Morgan defeated Jax to win the inaugural Women’s Crown Jewel Title.Â
