Indi Hartwell says her wrestling bucket list has one of the most infamous matches on it.
Hartwell recently spoke with WrestleZone Managing Editor Bill Pritchard about the ongoing NXT/TNA partnership. While she has largely stayed out of the chaos leading up to ‘Showdown,†she did guest referee a Knockouts title match at TNA Victory Road featuring NXTâ€s Kelani Jordan.
Indi Hartwell said that she enjoyed her guest referee spot, calling it a bucket-list moment. When asked what else would be on her wrestling bucket list, Hartwell shared a surprising answer.
“Well, something that Iâ€ve already done is the wedding, which is like a huge part of my career. Some wrestlers win titles, but not everyone gets to have a wrestling wedding,†Indi Hartwell explained. “So, I think that should be a bucket list item that a lot of wrestlers should have.
“I got to knock off being on commentary at TNA because I was never a special guest commentator at NXT or WWE that I can remember,†she added. “So, I got to do that. Thereâ€s a lot of, like, stipulation matches too that I havenâ€t gotten to have. Punjabi Prison, thatâ€s my top.â€
What is a Punjabi Prison match?
The Punjabi Prison match is similar to a steel cage match. It features two cage-like structures made of bamboo, and the goal is to escape them both. The winner has to escape the inner cage, then climb the second cage before their opponent. Escaping the cage is the only way to win, as there are no pinfalls or submissions.
WWE has sanctioned three Punjabi Prison matches in the companyâ€s history. The first one took place at Great American Bash 2006 between The Undertaker and Big Show, while the second was between Batista and The Great Khali at No Mercy 2007. The match concept was shelved for nearly a decade, but returned at Battleground 2017 when Jinder Mahal faced off with Randy Orton for the WWE Championship.

With the likes of Rory McIlroy, eventual winner Tommy Fleetwood and Shane Lowry teeing it up at the 2025 DP World India Championship, another PGA Tour star in the field flew under the radar: Brian Harman.
But the 2023 Open champion is receiving plenty of attention after the tournament. That’s because Harman uncharacteristically lost his cool and violently smashed a club in disgust during the final round… only to watch his ball end up right near the hole.
Harman contends at India Championship before Sunday swoon
Despite receiving second billing this week, Harman looked like he might win for much of it. At the halfway point, Harman had strung together a 68 and 65 to get to 11 under. That put him in a tie for second with Lowry, one shot behind Fleetwood with 36 holes to go.
But Harman, who won the 2025 Valero Texas Open in April for his first victory since the 2023 Open Championship at Royal Liverpool, took a step back in Saturday’s third round.
Two bogeys and only four birdies left him with a 70, putting him four shots behind 54-hole leader Keita Nakajima.
The biggest change on Harman’s scorecard from the first two rounds came at the par-5 1st hole. Harman birdied the narrow, tree-lined hole on Thursday and Friday. But on Saturday, Harman was forced to hit three tee shots at the 1st. He hit his first tee shot into the trees. When his provisional tee shot also found the trees, a mad search ensued.
Eventually, Harman found both balls. So he took an unplayable on the first ball, then zipped back to the tee on a golf cart to hit a third tee shot. Somehow, he came away with a bogey-6.
On Sunday, it would get worse.
Brian Harman sticks tee shot, smashes club in disgust
Four shots back to start the final round, Harman still had a chance to pull off a come-from-behind victory. But only if he went low early and often.
Unfortunately, those chances blew up at the 1st hole, where Harman hit his tee shot into a fairway bunker, then his second shot into the bushes to incur another penalty. A double-bogey 7 was the result.
Tour Confidential: Is Tommy Fleetwood primed for a huge 2026?
By:
GOLF Editors
Harman is known for his calm demeanor, rarely letting positive of negative emotions overtake him on the course. But the frustration from the 1st hole eventually boiled over on the par-3 5th.
The 161-yard 5th requires another careful tee shot through a gauntlet of trees beyond the tee. Making matters nervier on Sunday was a difficult pin cut close to the front of a tilting green. A bad tee ball could easily lead to a big number.
One over on the day and well off the lead, Harman chose his iron, stepped up and took a swipe at his ball.
In a video of the shot, Harman momentarily holds his finish, but then turns and violently tomahawks his iron into the ground, sending the club bouncing across the tee box.
A TV analyst can be heard saying, “I’ve never seen him do that before.”
Harman was apparently convinced that he’d hit another squirrelly tee shot. But he was wrong. Very wrong. Just after Harman smashed his iron, the camera cut to his ball, catching the end of its flight as it crashed down on the green, coming to rest 6’10” from the pin.
Check it out below.
In fact, it was Harman’s best shot on the hole all week. He hit it to 36 feet at in the 5th in Round 1, 18 feet in Round 2 and 23 feet in Round 3.
But Harman couldn’t sink his short birdie chance, settling for a par. He would trade three birdies for four bogeys the rest of the way, eventually signing for a two-over 74. His Sunday struggles dropped him into a T26-finish, 11 shots behind Fleetwood.
Kairi Sane will return to her native Japan with gold around her waist, according to the ‘Pirate Princess’ herself. On Instagram, Sane shared some photos of WWE’s recent tour in Japan. In the caption, Sane shared what the experience meant to her.
“Thank you very very much for all who came. Recently, I’ve had a tough schedule and matches going on and my whole body has been covered in bruises, but anyway, I wanted to deliver the best performance to everyone who came to watch, and I gave it 1000% of my energy.”
Sane wasn’t just grateful for what had come, but is looking ahead to the future. While WWE has yet to confirm the next time the promotion will head to Japan, Sane is determined to return to her home as a champion.
“I’ll train harder and get stronger so I can make a triumphant return with the championship belt in my hand!”
Sane is already a two-time WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion, both reigns coming alongside Asuka. In 2017, Sane won the Mae Young Classic and is a former WWE NXT Women’s Champion. Despite these accolades, Sane is yet to hold singles gold on WWE’s main roster, a fact she plans on changing soon.
With WWE introducing women’s mid-card titles over the past 12 months, Sane has a greater chance than ever to achieve her goal. It remains to be seen if Kairi returns to Japan as a champion, but those currently holding gold should beware the Pirate Princess.
Mercedes Moné has added another accolade to her impressive wrestling career by becoming the longest-reigning AEW TBS Champion in history. Moné has now held the gold for 509 days, breaking the record of the inaugural champion, Jade Cargill.
Moné won the gold at AEW Double or Nothing 2024 in her first match as part of the AEW roster. Since then, she has competed in 22 successful defenses, though Cargill defended the gold 25 times before her loss in 2023.
Monéâ€s reign has seen her retain against the likes of Skye Blue, Hikaru Shida, Britt Baker, Mina Shirakawa, Nyla Rose, and Riho, among others. She also holds a title defense victory over Kris Statlander, the current AEW Women’s World Champion.
The TBS title is just one of ten championships currently held by Moné across multiple promotions worldwide, tying her with Ultimo Dragon, who famously held ten belts simultaneously back in 1996. On October 19, Moné will take on Jody Threat for the Winnipeg Pro Wrestling title at the Rumble in the Bert event.
Monéâ€s post-WWE run has solidified her as one of the most decorated and influential women in professional wrestling today. As she continues breaking records and building her empire, one question remains, who can stop The CEO?
The WWE Championship, known as the Undisputed WWE Championship since April 2024, is a menâ€s professional wrestling world heavyweight title promoted by WWE and is currently defended on the SmackDown brand. It is one of two main roster menâ€s world championships, alongside the World Heavyweight Championship on Raw. Cody Rhodes is the current champion in his second reign, having won the title from John Cena in a Street Fight match on the main event of Night 2 of SummerSlam on August 3, 2025.
As of October 13, 2025, the championship has had 149 recognized reigns among 55 champions, with 11 recognized vacancies. Buddy Rogers was the first-ever WWE champion in the company’s history, and was awarded the title in 1963. The longest single reign belongs to Bruno Sammartino at 2,803 days, who also holds the record for the longest combined reign at 4,040 days. John Cena has the most reigns at 14.
Ten men have held the championship for a continuous year or longer: Bruno Sammartino (twice), Pedro Morales, Bob Backlund, Hulk Hogan, Randy Savage, John Cena, CM Punk, AJ Styles, Roman Reigns, and Cody Rhodes. Of these, five wrestlers have held it for over 1,000 days: Bruno Sammartino (twice), Pedro Morales, Bob Backlund, Roman Reigns, and Hulk Hogan.
WWE Championship: Wrestlers with the Longest Combined Days as WWE Champion
Bruno Sammartino holds the record for the longest WWE Championship reign in history. His first reign began in May 1963 and lasted an incredible 2,803 days, over seven and a half years, a feat considered nearly impossible to surpass. He later added a second reign of 1,237 days. Bob Backlund followed with a reign of 2,135 days during the early 1980s. Hulk Hogan became the face of professional wrestling during the first WrestleMania era, beginning his illustrious four-year reign of the WWE Championship in 1984.
Roman Reigns became WWE’s first 1,000-day world champion in 35 years and held the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship for 1,316 days in the modern era. Pedro Morales held the WWF Championship for almost three years in the 1970s as one of the most popular babyfaces of his era.
Gunther, with a total of 1,536 days as a champion, held the NXT UK Championship for 870 days and the Intercontinental Championship for 666 days. Alba Fyre, also known as Kay Lee Ray, held the NXT UK Women’s Championship for 649 days, one of the longest championship reigns in WWE women’s history.
Asuka held the NXT Women’s Championship for 522 days and continued her unbeaten streak in both NXT and the main roster. Brock Lesnarâ€s 503-day reign as WWE Universal Champion from 2017 to 2018 featured matches against Goldberg, Samoa Joe, Braun Strowman, and Roman Reigns.

More WWE names have announced departures.
The latest round of WWE cuts started earlier this week when indie star Zayda Steel announced that she will not be renewing her WWE ID contract. Shortly after, Kylie Rae also confirmed that her time with the ID program was coming to an end.
This was followed by news of several more cuts on Friday. The most surprising of these names was Lance Anoaâ€i, member of the famous Anoaâ€i family and cousin to names such as Roman Reigns and The Rock.
Lance was signed to a development deal back in November 2024. He had wrestled in several matches for the company as an enhancement talent before his signing, but Anoaâ€i surprisingly did not compete in any sanctioned matches during his development run.
The 33-year-old took to Twitter to announce the news, noting that he hasn’t had the best of luck since arriving in the company. Though he confirmed that he won’t be leaving wrestling and he will be back in the indie circuit when his non compete clause expires in 30 days.
Other names who confirmed their exit from the company as well include WWE LFG and Evolve competitors Jamar Hampton and Drako Knox, as well as Evolve General Manager Stevie Turner.
While not confirmed officially, Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful is reporting that former NXT North American and Tag Team Champion Wes Lee is also among the names released from the company.
Many of these names have taken to social media to comment on their departure, expressing their gratitude for the opportunity as well as addressing their future. You can check out their posts below:
My time with @WWE has come to an end. Iâ€ve had a brilliant time and Iâ€m so excited for the future ? see you soon!

A former AEW Women’s World Champion is nearing her return to All Elite Wrestling after missing nearly a full year of action, and is reportedly committing her future to the company as well.
It was recently announced that former AEW Women’s World Champion Hikaru Shida had her US visa renewed after not appearing on television since the November 20 episode of “AEW Dynamite.” To go along with her brand new visa, Dave Meltzer reported in the most recent edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Shida has not only returned to the US, but she has also signed a new contract with the company. It’s currently unknown how long the contract will last or how much money Shida will be making over the next few years, but she remain as part of the AEW roster for the foreseeable future.
While she’s been back in Japan, Shida has remained active by competing at various events across the country, even crossing paths with fellow AEW stars Willow Nightingale, Emi Sakura, and even Kota Ibushi. Her most recent match took place on September 7 at OZ Academy’s “Flowers of the Cemetery” show where she teamed up with former IWGP Women’s Champion Syuri to take on Sonoko Kato and Joshi legend Aja Kong.
Before her lengthy absence from AEW, she was one of the most decorated members of the women’s division, and still holds a number of records that have yet to be beaten. Shida still holds the record for the longest individual reign with the AEW Women’s World Championship, holding the title for 372 days between 2020 and 2021. In October 2023, Shida made even more history by defeating Saraya on that year’s Title Tuesday edition of “AEW Dynamite” to become the first-ever three-time AEW Women’s World Champion, before being defeated by “Timeless” Toni Storm at Full Gear in November, who in turn became the second woman to hold the title three times.
A current NXT Champion might have suffered a live event injury.
The development brand held a live event in KEMBA Live! in Columbus, Ohio, this Thursday night, featuring names such as DIY, Trick Williams, and Candice LaRae in action. One of the matches on the card saw the current NXT Women’s Champion Jacy Jayne teaming with her Fatal Influence partner Fallon Henley to take on the duo of Sol Ruca and Zaria.
According to fans in attendance, Jayne grabbed her quad towards the ending of the bout and tagged out of the match. Ruca and Zaria then picked up the victory in the bout. After the bell, the referee threw up the X sign, indicating a legitimate injury, and the NXT Champion had to be helped to the back by the medical staff.
The same show also featured the WWE in-ring return of Omos after more than a year. He defeated Lexis King in a singles match at the show. The Giant had not competed under the WWE banner since the April 5, 2024 episode of SmackDown where he was part of the Andre The Giant memorial battle royal.
Not much is known about Jayne’s status at the moment so it’s hard to say if she’ll be missing any time from the ring or what the future holds for the Women’s title.
SEScoops wishes a speedy recovery to Jacy Jayne.
Another WWE star injured?
Injuries have always been a part of sports and pro-wrestling. Often, WWE stars and pro-wrestlers across other promotions suffer serious injuries while wrestling or training. Recently, Kota Ibushi of AEW fell victim to a serious injury, and now, Jacy Jayne of NXT might be next on the list.
Recently, while performing at a live house show on October 9th, Jayne apparently suffered a leg injury, which required the referee to stop the match. The NXT Women’s Champion was soon helped to the back by medical personnel.
The incident took place during a tag team match between Jayneâ€s Fatal Influence and Zaruca (Sol Ruca and Zaria). Soon, videos on X(Twitter) emerged showing Jayne limping on her way to the back and displaying possible signs of a serious injury. Also, another Reddit user noted that,
Towards the end of the match Jacy grabbed at her quad and tagged out of the match quickly after. Ref threw the x up after the match and when she tried to walk back under her own power had to be assisted by WWE medical to the backâ€.
BREAKING: Jacy Jayne limping backstage after that brutal match! The X was called immediately. Prayers up ðŸ #WWENXT#NoMercypic.twitter.com/8VkbC4bHy1
— CallMeCensor 🇵🇸 (@SNSR619) October 10, 2025
Soon enough after the moment became a talking point, Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful shared an update on social media and noted,
Referees came out and held up the “X” for Jacy Jayne at an NXT live event, indicating an injury. Hopefully all is well.”
Multiple fans on social media also noted that the ‘X’ sign was also used for Fallon Henley after she took a rough facial bump on an assisted Sol Snatcher.
The infamous ‘X’ sign is a dreaded referee signal and is only used by the match official during a serious injury.
WWE Jacy Jayne Was Enjoying The Run Of Her Career
Earlier this year, Jayne defeated Stephanie Vaquer to win the NXT Women’s Championship, and later also won the TNA Knockouts Title. Although she later lost it to Masha Slamovich.
One of the leading women’s figures in NXT, the potential injury could ruin the sensational momentum she has been carrying now. An important figure in the brand right now, Jayne recently led Team NXT during their battle against Team TNA on Showdown.
While nothing official has been shared on the incident yet, we at ITR Wrestling wish Jacy Jayne a safe recovery.
In other news: A promising WWE star recently announced her departure.
In some surprise news, inaugural WWE ID Women’s Champion Kylie Rae is leaving the WWE ID program after her contract wasn’t renewed.
The longtime indie veteran took to social media Thursday to both announce the news and show gratitude for her 11 months in the program.
“Today I share that my time with WWE ID is coming to an end as I was informed my contract will not be renewed. Iâ€m incredibly grateful for the opportunities, memories, and people I met along the way,” she wrote.
Rae, who joined the program 11 months ago, revealed three weeks ago that she is pregnant for the second time with independent wrestler Isaias Velazquez. She previously gave birth back in October 2023. The title that Rae won just two months ago was then vacated with no announcement as to crowning a new champion.
Earlier on Thursday, Zayda Steel also announced she was also leaving the program. However, she chose to withdraw herself. Steel was part of the match where Rae won the title along with Zara Zakher.
Three male wrestlers were also released in August.
The program was created to provides indie talent with financial support and other development opportunities while creating a potential pathway to NXT if WWE decides to sign them to a full developmental contract.
Today I share that my time with WWEID is coming to an end, as I was informed my contract will not be renewed.
