WWE seemingly unveils a new name.

Several up-and-coming WWE stars have been making their debut these past few weeks after spending some time at the Performance Center. Earlier last month, the likes of Jaime Garcia and Cyril Coquerelle, who now go by Zozaya and Aigle Blanc, competed in an NXT live show. Now, it seems like the Stamford-based promotion is gearing up to introduce a new addition to its programming.

On December 5, 2025, records from the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) showed that a trademark application had been made for ‘FAHD TUWAIQ’ for entertainment purposes, which seems to be a name. You can read more about it below:

Entertainment services, namely, wrestling exhibitions and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer rendered live and through broadcast media including television and radio, and via the internet or commercial online service; providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network; providing information in the fields of sports and entertainment via an online community portal;

providing a website in the field of sports entertainment information; fan club services, namely, organizing sporting events in the field of wrestling for wrestling fan club members; organizing social entertainment events for entertainment purposes for wrestling fan club members; providing online newsletters in the fields of sports entertainment; online journals, namely blogs, in the field of sports entertainment.”

WWE Also Recently Filed A Trademark For A Possible Premium Live Event Name

As it turns out, the possible WWE name wasn’t the only recent trademark filing made by the Stamford-based promotion.

As many may know, one of the current premium live events from WWE is Night of Champions, wherein every gold of the company will be defended. The PLE returned in 2023 after five years away, and was held again this year in Saudi Arabia.

Interestingly, WWE recently filed a trademark for ‘Clash of Champions,’ which was the name of the WCW event and the name World Wrestling Entertainment used until it was replaced in 2016.

Golf is never just about the score — for most players, it’s about the moments between swings, and what we wear often shapes how we experience those moments. With the right gear, a good round can become a great one, and heavy rain, howling winds or brisk early mornings become part of the story, not the reason it ends.

That credo is what drives Druids, a golf apparel brand born in Ireland and perfected in Scotland, the home of golf. Created by golfers for golfers, Druids combines premium quality with accessibility, offering high-performance gear without the premium price tag.

Lash Legend is now officially part of the WWE SmackDown brand.

Legend appeared during Fridayâ€s SmackDown, getting involved in the Nia Jax vs. Charlotte Flair match by attacking Alexa Bliss, who was at ringside supporting Flair. Moments later, Jax hit an Annihilator on Flair for the win. Legend and Jax celebrated together as the segment came to a close.

Legend’s bio on WWE.com has since been moved from the NXT brand to SmackDown. While Legend has wrestled on the main roster multiple times, including a United States title tournament match on SmackDown last year, this marks the start of her being full time on the main roster.

In a backstage interview that aired later in the show on Friday, Jax explained her new alliance with Legend.

“Alexa and Charlotte said I needed to find a friend, and jokes on them, I found a friend. I had a friend. I faced Lash on an NBC, and she is a formidable adversary and I know sheâ€s a bada–. Thatâ€s why sheâ€s my friend,” Nia said.

Legend added, “If you didnâ€t know, Iâ€m Lash Legend, the one and only bougie bully. And based on what I just did to Alexa, clearly Iâ€m everything I say I am and best believe weâ€re going straight to the top. And tonight was just the beginning.”

Shortly after the segment aired, WrestleVotes reported that Legend is expected to be a fixture on SmackDown moving forward and will continue to be aligned with Jax.

Baller League may be doing many things right. After starting out in Germany in 2023, it expanded to the UK and is preparing to launch in the USA.

But Starck conceded there is “room for improvement in every department”.

Several incidents of violence marred the opening UK season, with manager AngryGinge left with scratch marks on his neck following a fight between players from SDS and Yanited during matchday seven.

The Yanited manager later said he had been “gripped up and kicked” while in the middle of a melee on the pitch.

That incident came a week after former Premier League defender Joleon Lescott, who appeared as a guest player, was almost wrestled over the advertising hoardings during an altercation with Wembley Rangers’ Domingos Pires.

On matchday five, Troy Deeney was sent off for charging into a player from FC Rules the World with his forearm raised.

“We’re a very soft society these days but this is sport, this is emotion,” Starck said.

“If two roosters get in a room they are going to fight and we have 250 roosters, so they are going to fight.

“We had whole talks [after incidents], we don’t discuss publicly what we did but we took measures to make sure things like this don’t happen again.”

Unlike the Premier League, Baller League is not regulated by a governing body and therefore sanctions are processed by its internal disciplinary commission.

Baller League took action after tensions boiled over again on the penultimate matchday of the regular season, when Trebol FC’s Amine Sassi appeared to kick an opponent in the head as they lay on the floor – handing out a one-match suspension.

“Baller League upholds a strict zero-tolerance policy for this kind of behaviour and will continue to enforce it consistently,” the organisation posted at the time., external

Scott Steiner giving the two sweet

John Nacion/Getty Images

If one is a younger fan of pro wrestling, they may not be familiar with the legacy of one Scott Steiner beyond certain specifics, such as the fact that he is one half of one of the greatest tag teams in wrestling history alongside his brother, Rick, and that he won the WCW World Heavyweight Championship during the promotion’s dying days. Oh, and the fact that he may be one of the most insane wrestlers in history, and not because he was doing crazy moves beyond innovating the Frankensteiner/Hurricanrana. After he turned on his brother and joined the nWo in early 1998, Steiner didn’t just overhaul his appearance as much as he almost transformed into a different person. Gone was the long hair, the University of Michigan letter jacket and the traditional wrestling tights, replaced by chain mail, a goatee, a body that gave new meaning to the phrase “chemically induced,” and the nicknames “Big Bad Booty Daddy” and “Big Poppa Pump.”

With all of that came Steiner’s new attitude, one that would make him both one of the more entertaining pro wrestlers of the next few decades (see the “Steiner Math” promo) and one of the more controversial wrestlers of the next few decades. That’s because Steiner became fully uncaged and unafraid to speak his mind, in and out of the ring. The most notorious example of this came during an early 2000 episode of “WCW Nitro,” when an in-ring Steiner promo essentially turned into a shoot as he lashed out against WCW and his long-time co-worker (and future stablemate) Ric Flair. That was at least till a decade later, when Steiner topped himself thanks to an incident with another former co-worker, Hulk Hogan, that briefly left Steiner persona non grata in WWE.

The Heat Between Steiner And Hogan Went Back Years

Having worked in WWE, WCW, and TNA at the same time over the course of their careers, including being stablemates in the nWo, Hogan and Steiner definitely went a ways back. But the interactions weren’t the most positive according to Steiner, who has since claimed Hogan was behind booking decisions in both WCW and TNA that Steiner feels sapped his momentum. All this pent up anger led to an explosion from Steiner prior to the 2015 Hall of Fame ceremony, where he came across Hogan’s then wife Jennifer and launched into an explosive tirade against Hogan for his actions. Steiner would later go on to claim that he was forced to call his lawyer over the incident, stating Hogan and his wife went to police and said Steiner had threatened them. Steiner also claimed WWE had banned him from the Hall of Fame ceremony, backed up by photos of Steiner found in a security room, as a result of the tirade, with “Big Poppa Pump” famously stating that WWE “took the word of a racist” over Steiner’s.Â

While the wounds have since healed between WWE and Steiner, enough so that he’s been on hand to watch matches featuring his nephew, Bron Breakker, Steiner’s resentment towards Hogan remained. In addition to those claims he made about the Hulkster, Steiner wasn’t afraid to call Hogan out as a racist, as well as referring to him as a “piece of garbage.” Even in the months leading into Hogan’s death earlier this year, Steiner continued to hold Hogan in low regard. But then again, what would you expect from an outspoken individual known as “Big Poppa Pump?” Steiner’s statements about Hogan may not have been the most tactful, but they were very much on brand for one of the more outspoken wrestlers the business has ever seen.

Vince McMahon smirks toward a WWE audience.

WWE

Maybe your 80-year-old grandfather has a gigantic yacht with a wild name and it’s a little strange, but when you’re former WWE Chairman and CEO Vince McMahon, it kind of fits ever-so-nicely at this point, doesn’t it? In 2010, when Linda McMahon ran for a seat in the United State Senate out of Connecticut, the moniker of the vessel in question hit the public eye, and it was as outlandish as you might expect from the man who once called himself “The Genetic Jackhammer” (at least pertaining to his on-screen presence).

While longtime McMahon favorite Shawn Michaels might forever be known as a “Sexy Boy,” thanks to his iconic theme song, Mr. McMahon’s 47-foot sports yacht, registered out of Boca Raton, Florida was dubbed “Sexy B****,” possibly (hopefully?) named after Linda, now estranged from Vince, and once again in President Donald Trump’s Cabinet as United States Secretary of Education, after previously serving as Administrator of the Small Business Administration. Administering administrations aside, the McMahons have spent the majority of their lives together in the public eye, atop the WWE’s enormous global footprint, and of course, Vince has come under fire in recent years, enduring several ignominious accusations, headlined by the Janel Grant lawsuit.

Unfortunately, because of the cloud surrounding his reputation these days, the grandiose name for Vince’s seafaring escape invokes all sorts of negativity, what with multiple accusations of an inappropriate nature, including those involving ring boys in the 1980s, former referee Rita Chatterton, and the late Ashley Massaro just to name a few.

Hulk Hogan tears off his shirt to reveal the WWF Championship.

WWE

The death of the late, great Hulk Hogan in July of this year is still fresh enough to be sending shockwaves throughout the worlds of wrestling and pop culture. As his family explores the possibility of a medical malpractice lawsuit, the grieving process is still very much ongoing, with all of family, friends, and fans still finding ways to honor the man who for so long was called “The Immortal.” Hogan’s legacy, though complicated, will endure forevermore, of course, much like other icons of pop culture from the past, like “The King” Elvis Presley, for one. Hogan held Presely in high enough regard, actually, to call him a “dream tag team partner” in an interview with Yahoo! Sports in 2017.

While the nomination was memorable, it was Hogan’s explanation for a connection between the two that drew eyeballs and called Hogan’s own memory into question. “When I first started wrestling,” said Hogan, whose debut came in 1977 in Championship Wrestling from Florida, “he used to come in [for] the semi-main/main event, ride a Harley with a helmet and sit way up top at the Mid-South Coliseum. The only problem with this story, however, is that Hogan didn’t wrestle anywhere outside of Florida until April of 1979, while Presley died on August 16, 1977 (precisely one week after Hogan’s debut match as The Super Destroyer against Don Serrano in Fort Pierce, Florida).

Hogan’s tall tales over the years were consistent and seemingly knew no bounds, so the Elvis claim might be fun to think about but in reality, it never really came close to happening. Still, just like anyone else can, “The Hulkster” was able to fantasy book a Presley-Hogan in-ring connection. “That would’ve been the one guy, looking back, if I would’ve been aware and would’ve known who Elvis Presley was,” he said, “that would be the one guy that I would’ve loved to have in the ring with me.” He’d have to settle for a feud with Honky Tonk Man, which reached its apex during an episode of “Saturday Night’s Main Event” in 1989 when Hogan successfully defended his WWF Championship.

Santino Marella had some strong words about TNAâ€s place in the pro wrestling world.

Marella is currently the on-air Director of Authority in TNA. For the most part, the company has enjoyed its ongoing partnership with WWEâ€s NXT brand. However, tensions have flared in recent weeks, and this weekâ€s episode of NXT ended with a brawl between both brands.

Marella wasnâ€t in Orlando to witness the brawl first-hand, but he says he was in on the plan. Marella knows itâ€s fun for fans to watch, but he also supports what the TNA roster did, noting he enjoyed seeing them “all getting their licks back in.â€

“Iâ€ll tell you when things changed. It was fun, a win–win situation having our talent go there, having their talent come here,†Santino said. “But all of a sudden, when they had two of our top titles, the atmosphere backstage changed a little bit. And I think we kind of decided we have to take it into our own hands. Weâ€re not going to be walked all over. Weâ€re not the secondary brand.

“When it comes to money and television exposure, thatâ€s one thing,†he noted. “But when it comes to actual in-ring talent, weâ€re not the secondary brand—and weâ€re not going to be portrayed like that. So yeah, we did what we had to do, and weâ€re going to continue to do what we have to do until we feel like weâ€re the victors in this.â€

Santino Marella is the real deal in TNA

Santino Marella originally started as a character in WWE. He made his memorable WWE debut on the April 16, 2007 episode of RAW in Milan, Italy. Santino was “picked†out of the crowd as a surprise opponent for Umaga, whom he shockingly defeated to win the Intercontinental title.

His 2023 arrival in TNA was surprising for another reason, as he was once again using the name Santino Marella, which was a WWE trademark. Santino explained how Scott Dâ€Amore had acquired the lapsed trademark, which has now reverted back to WWE. He says the company is on board with him using it, but he also takes pride in still portraying the same character without adjustments just because he was in a new promotion.

“Itâ€s cool because I didnâ€t have to adjust my character. I could just be me again,†he explained. “When the camera goes on, I donâ€t play Santino—I become Santino. Fans are getting the authentic product. They were getting the real Santino, not a watered-down version, not a TNA version. It was the real Santino.â€

The best years are ahead

Marella (Anthony Carelli) initially retired from in-ring competition due to a serious neck injury in 2014. However, heâ€s been able to get healthy and back in the ring since then, including a recent match against NXT North American Champion Ethan Page.

Santino says heâ€s going through a physical resurgence in the ring, noting that he didnâ€t think his 50s would be some of the greatest years of his life. Santino said he invested in his health, using red light and stem cell therapy, PEMF mats and iron neck training as a way to heal his body. He also said his kids are also a big motivating factor, noting that he wants them to see what he cando, not what he used todo.

“Theyâ€ll see me chasing championships, and theyâ€ll learn what dedication looks like. I tell them, ‘If I can do this, you can do even more.†My daughter, [NXT star] Arianna Grace, grew up seeing me travel the world. Sheâ€s exceptional and is running on her own path now. But I have younger kids too. I want to inspire them the same way—and be able to play with them. When my back was bad, I couldnâ€t even get on the floor to play. That wasnâ€t acceptable. Now I can.

“So yeah, Iâ€ve been given a second chance. Who gets that? I rode it till the wheels fell off—then found out you can put the wheels back on,†Santino said. “Now weâ€re riding again. The next several years are going to be awesome.â€

TNA Victory Road takes place on Friday, September 26 at the Edmonton Expo Centre. You can also watch Santino on TNA Impact every Thursday on AXS or the TNA+ app.

This past Saturday night, WWE debuted its first Premium Live Event on ESPN called Wrestlepalooza. One of the most talked about matches of the night was the singles match between the Dark Angel Stephanie Vaquer and the Genius of the Sky IYO SKY for the vacant Womenâ€s World Championship.

Vaquer managed to pick up the win and captured her first World title on the main roster. A Hall of Famer praised the match and WWEâ€s decision to put the strap on the Dark Angel.

The wrestling legend was none other than the Wrestling God, JBL. While speaking on a recent episode of the Something to Wrestle podcast, JBL praised Stephanie Vaquer. The WWE Hall of Famer believes the Dark Angel has all the potential to become the brand of the division.

“Sheâ€s incredibly popular, and her social media presence is awesome. So I think it makes perfect sense. The direction weâ€re headed is people that can be brands, and she can be a brand, and she already is developing as a brand. So I think itâ€s a terrific move to go ahead and let her go to the higher level, because she was already getting there. Which I think is a sign to a lot of guys out there – youâ€ve gotta do more than just wait on creative. Youâ€ve gotta create yourself on social media. I rag on these guys so much for being on their phones, but thereâ€s a reason sometimes that you are, because of social media,†JBL said. [H/T WrestlingNews.co]

Now, Stephanie Vaquerâ€s next major match will be taking place next month on October 11 at the Crown Jewel PLE. She will be challenging the WWE Womenâ€s Champion for the Womenâ€s Crown Jewel Title.

What are your thoughts on Vaquer becoming the new Womenâ€s World Champion?
