Brett Howden and Tomas Hertl also scored, and Mark Stone had two assists for the Golden Knights, who improved to 6-2-2 in their last 10 games. Carter Hart finished with 21 saves.
Mika Zibanejad and Alexis Lafreniere scored for the Rangers, who lost in overtime at home for the second straight day to fall to 3-8-3 at Madison Square Garden. Jonathan Quick had 26 saves.
After Hart denied Zibanejad to force a whistle in the Vegas end late in overtime, Eichel raced the other way following the ensuing face-off and beat Quick for his 12th goal and the win.
Hertl forced overtime with a tying goal with 52 seconds remaining in regulation.
Lafreniere gave New York a 2-1 lead at 13:01 of the second, firing a shot past Hart for his seventh goal.
Howden, a former Ranger, scored his fifth goal just 36 seconds into the game.
Zibanejad tied it at 9:08 of the second, tapping a loose puck past Hart for his team-leading 11th. Zibanejad has 261 goals as a Ranger, one behind Vic Hadfield for sixth place on the franchise list.
Stone has 20 points in 12 games this season.
Hart was playing his second game since returning to the NHL. The 27-year-old goalie was one of five 2018 Canada world junior hockey players acquitted of sexual assault in July. He made his first appearance for Vegas last Tuesday at home, a 4-3 shootout win over Chicago.

For a club to win any trophy, let alone three in one season, there usually has to be at least one moment of barely-believable, against-the-odds drama.
Manchester United’s 1999 Treble-winning campaign was perhaps the greatest in the club’s illustrious history and had plenty of these sorts of moments.

After seeing off Inter Milan in the quarter-finals, Sir Alex Ferguson’s side were again handed Italian opposition in the semis, and after drawing 1-1 with Juventus at Old Trafford, they needed to go and beat the Italian champions in their own backyard.
“Everyone talks about the final, but for me, the best feeling was that Juve game in Turin,” former Reds Devils midfielder Nicky Butt tells FourFourTwo. “It’s up there with winning it, because nobody beat Juve away, ever.

“Certainly not after going 2-0 down in 11 minutes like we did.”
Ferguson’s side found themselves down early thanks to a Filippo Inzaghi brace, with an inspired Roy Keane leading the fightback when he netted on 24 minutes before Dwight Yorke and Andy Cole sealed the comeback, which saw them become the first English side to reach the final for 14 years.

The victory also set up a final against Bayern Munich at Camp Nou, which has gone down in history and saw the club lift their first European Cup since 1968.
“We’d finally f**king got there – we’d failed so many times,” Butt continues. “My lad plays now and I say to him that failure is a massive part of it. We failed so many times between 1995 and 1999.
“The pressure of that Treble, I was f**king knackered after. I can remember getting on the bus after the final and went… [Mimes collapsing into his seat].

“I’ve got a lot of mates who are big City fans that told me, “I’d never say it publicly, but I was buzzing for you.”
“Only because of the way we did it – if we’d won it in normal time or 3-1, then it would have been different.”

Kevin Durant became just the eighth player in NBA history to reach 31,000 career points during the Houston Rockets’ 117-98 win against the Phoenix Suns.
The 37-year-old started the game needing just four points to hit the milestone and took his tally to 31,000 points with a 10-foot jump shot midway through the first quarter.

Durant, who finished the night with 28 points to move to 31,024 overall, sits behind Wilt Chamberlain, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Michael Jordan, Karl Malone, Kobe Bryant, Dirk Nowitzki and LeBron James on the all-time list.
“As you’re coming up into the league, you look at these guys as heroes and you put them on pedestals, and you look at their accomplishments as sometimes unreachable,” Durant said.
“But then you get on that road trying to do your thing. That’s what I’ve done since 2008.
“I’ve been focused on trying to be the best player I can be, and they set a standard for each player when they left the league.

“Guys like Wilt, Michael, Kobe – I’m missing so many guys – they just set a standard that I try to reach every day.”
Antetokounmpo out for up to a month
The Milwaukee Bucks expect to be without star player Giannis Antetokounmpo for the next month as he recovers from a calf strain.
The Greek power forward limped out of Wednesday’s game against the Detroit Pistons after falling to the ground during a defensive play.
Initial scans indicated the 31-year-old could miss between two to four weeks.
But the Bucks say they will give Antetokounmpo added time to recover given the nature of the injury.

“I feel like we should learn that with calves – make sure they’re healthy,” Bucks coach Don Rivers said.
“So that may take longer than we want. That even may make Giannis frustrated over it, but we’ve just got to try to get that right.”
Elsewhere, James and Luka Doncic were absent as the Los Angeles Lakers lost 126-105 to the Boston Celtics.
James, 40, continues to be troubled by a sciatica problem in his left foot, which saw him miss the first 14 games of the season.
Doncic, who missed the match for personal reasons, could return for the three-game trip against the Philadelphia 76ers this weekend.

Carse, usually so reliable, had been as guilty as anyone of spraying the ball around Brisbane – he conceded 113 runs from his 17 overs.
And it was indicative of England’s situation that the Durham man was asked to bowl a spell of bouncers in the night session, when usually the floodlights would offer the kind of movement to encourage orthodox seam bowling.
With Green stepping back to flay an expected short ball, he was bluffed by a Carse yorker that splattered the stumps. From the next ball, Carey gloved a venomous lifter, only for Ben Duckett to grass the vital catch moving forward from gully.
Still, in the same over, Carse got the crucial wicket of Smith thanks to Jacks’ moment of magic. Smith tried to drag a pull around the corner only for Jacks, at backward square leg, to fling himself to his right and cling on with his right hand.
Inglis and Carey countered, boundaries continued to flow and Duckett put down another chance – this time Inglis at gully off the bowling off Stokes. Three balls later, Stokes removed Inglis’ middle stump.
There was still time for England to create two more chances, and for Carey and Neser to add 49 from only 55 balls.
Neser, on six, drilled Jofra Archer to cover where Carse failed to cling on. Carey had 25 when he slashed Gus Atkinson between Smith and first-slip Joe Root. Root dived to his right, but it was the static Smith who should have made the effort.

The Milwaukee Bucks beat the Detroit Pistons 113-109 despite losing the NBA’s two-time Most Valuable Player Giannis Antetokounmpo to injury early in the match.
Antetokounmpo, 30, fell to the floor in the third minute and had to be helped off court by his team-mates.

The Bucks trailed by 18 points in the first quarter, but fought back at Milwaukee’s Fiserv Forum to claim just their second win in 10 games.
Kevin Porter Jr registered 26 points for the Bucks, with Ryan Rollins adding 22 and AJ Green scoring 11 of his 19 in the fourth quarter to fuel the comeback.
“It was a hell of a win,” Bucks head coach Doc Rivers said.
“We get down early, miss wide open, great shots, but we just couldn’t get anything to fall.
“And Giannis gets hurt… to fight back, it just shows a lot of stuff about this team.”
Detroit remain top of the Eastern Conference after their fifth loss of the season, with Milwaukee sitting 10th.

The Bucks initially thought Antetokounmpo had strained his right calf, but are awaiting confirmation after the Greek power forward had an MRI scan.
Before the match, rumours had emerged via ESPN that Antetokounmpo was “mulling his future” with the franchise.
But Rivers said there had been “no conversations” about a possible trade.

New York rookie Kristyna Kaltounkova, the top overall pick, received a major checking from behind penalty and game misconduct with 3:59 to play, meaning the Torrent would finish the game with a player advantage.
After a timeout, Carpenter pounced on a loose puck between the circles and whipped a shot past Kayle Osborne with 1:24 remaining in the game. Carpenter played her first two seasons with the Sirens and is their leading scorer with 43 points in 50 games.
Moments later Knight poked the puck into the net on a scramble in the crease.
That made a winner of Hannah Murphy in her first professional start in goal. She made 23 saves and just gave up Paetyn Levis’ goal 3:15 into the game.
Seattle (1-0-1-1), which drew a record crowd of 16,014 in its home opener on Friday afternoon, a 3-0 loss to two-time defending champion Minnesota, went 2 for 10 on the power play before 8,622 fans. New York (2-0-0-2) went 0 for 10.

Markram was caught by Gaikward at the end of Harshit Rana’s 30th over, but Brevis arrived at the crease to hit a 34-ball 54.
The 22-year-old was dismissed when he hit Kuldeep Yadav to Yashasvi Jaiswal, before Breetzke and Marco Jansen were dismissed by Prasidh Krishna and Arshdeep in the space of five balls.
But Corbin Bosch steadied South African nerves, striking an unbeaten 29 from 15 balls, including a match-winning four, as his side reached to 362-6 to seal a remarkable victory.
