Jimmy Uso shared hilarious experiences of being mistaken for his brother, Jey Uso, even from people within WWE with whom The Usos have worked for years.
Jimmy Uso Shares How He Reacts When Being Mistaken For Jey Uso, Says People Backstage In WWE Can’t Tell Them Apart
On the latest episode of the podcast, Cheap Heat with Peter Rosenberg, Jimmy Uso was asked if he is ever confused for his sibling and how he reacts to it.
Big Jim responded that he was thankful that they are both identical twins, so he doesn’t mind it, saying he usually does small talk and leaves:
Well, the good thing is me and my brother are really twins. Me and Jey are twins. Me and Jey just look alike, so I just eat it up. Itâ€s all good. If Iâ€m hooded up, I just keep it moving. “Hey, whatâ€s up?†Thatâ€s what it is — in and out. At least Iâ€m a twin.”
When asked if fans asked him for a photo, mistaking him for his brother, Uso replied that it happens all the time and he always obliges the fans. Saying that when fans recognize the mistake, he just has a little chat with them and leaves.
The conversation was as follows:
[Peter Rosenberg]: You ever take pictures as Jey where people are like, ‘Jey, can I get a picture?’
[Jimmy Uso] ‘Oh, all that, bro.’ What you mean, bro? Iâ€m just trying to be in and out because Iâ€m like, nah. Or theyâ€ll say, ‘You Jey?’ ‘Yeah, man.’ ‘I thought you were Jey, you ainâ€t Jimmy.’ And then itâ€s a whole other conversation that just goes on when Iâ€m just trying to be in and out, you know what Iâ€m saying?”
Rosenberg then asked Big Jim how long it took for people backstage in WWE to tell the two siblings apart, which is when he made the surprising revelation that it happens to this day, stating that people who he had worked with for years still can’t tell the brothers apart; however, he always takes it in good spirit:
[Peter Rosenberg]: Now tell the truth – how long did it last, even backstage, where you knew that a lot of people who worked there, maybe not the people in the locker room who were with you every minute, but where a lot of people backstage still really didnâ€t know the difference between you guys? How long did that last?
[Jimmy Uso]: Itâ€s still going on today. No, itâ€s still going on today. I own – all my kids, all my wife. And you know what? Even the closest homies that have been there our whole career — ‘Hey, Jey.’ And Iâ€ll just stop, bro, and look at them. Theyâ€re like, ‘Oh my God, Iâ€m so sorry. I did not mean to call you that.’
I was like, ‘Bro, Iâ€ve known you my whole career. Iâ€ve seen you my whole career here. You tell me what Iâ€ve got to do, what match Iâ€ve got. I know you. You know me.’ But Iâ€ve got to give them hell, though.”

While this makes for a hilarious story, the current storyline seems to be building a divide between The Usos, who are on a path where they could be set to face each other again somewhere in the near future.

The AEW women’s tag team division is taking center stage over the next few weeks thanks to the tournament that will determine the inaugural AEW Women’s World Tag Team Champions taking place. However, it’s not just the stars of AEW who are interested in the AEW women’s tag team division as former WWE Superstar Tegan Nox, now known as Nixon Newell, made her feelings known on the October 25 episode of “AEW Collision.”
Now part of the #AEW Women’s Tag Team Championship Tournament, @taymelo and @annajay___ give their take, but @RealNixonNewell and @MirandaAlize_ have opinions of their own!

During a backstage promo, Anna Jay and Tay Melo were discussing how they were one of the original female tag teams in AEW and that they have been building the women’s tag team division for many years. TayJay were then interrupted by Newell and “The Lucha Baddie” Miranda Alize, who stated that they were two of the best wrestlers on the independent circuit and thought it would be a great idea to come to the company where the best wrestle and back up what they were saying. Melo proceeded to call Newell and Alize rude and that she doesn’t like rude people in AEW, but that if they were issuing a challenge for a match at some point in the future, herself and Jay were more than happy to accept.
Newell has been back on the independent scene for almost a year at the time of writing after being released from her WWE contract in November 2024. Her release was actually the second time that Newell had been released after initially being let go in 2021. As for Alize, she has traveled around the world since making her professional wrestling debut in 2014, and on top of being Newell’s real-life partner (as well as her kayfabe rival on the indies), long-time AEW fans will recall her making sporadic appearances between 2019 and 2021, including a match on “AEW Dynamite” against Awesome Kong in 2019.

Active WWE Superstar lands a backstage role in the Stamford-based promotion.
There have been several former superstars who found themselves a spot backstage in WWE, with some landing a role as a match producer. There are wrestling legends like Pat Patterson and Abyss, while there are more recent stars like Bobby Roode, Jason Jordan, and even Tyson Kidd.
As it turns out, a current and active star has also begun taking on this role, Candice LeRae. According to TC of WrestleVotes, the SmackDown star has been learning how to produce matches behind the scenes. So far, Candice has produced matches for WWE Main Event, including the one that took place ahead of this week’s Friday show at the Mullett Arena in Tempe, Arizona, between the Street Profits and Los Garza.
I spoke with a source who tells me Candice LeRae has been learning how to produce matches behind the scenes.
She has been a producer for matches for WWE Main Event, including the one being filmed before #SmackDown in Tempe tonight between The Street Profits & Los Garza.

Candice has been with WWE since 2017 but decided not to renew her contract in May 2022. However, she returned months later in September that same year. LeRae is currently on the SmackDown brand and occasionally partners up with Tommaso Ciampa and her husband, Johnny Gargano.
Top WWE Star Considers Candice LeRae Underrated
In an August interview with SPORTBible, Rhea Ripley was asked which WWE star she thinks is underrated. Initially, she answered that there’s a lot and it’s hard to pinpoint just one. However, she eventually named Candice LeRae. The Eradicator noted that she worked with the SmackDown star since and NXT and praised the latter’s in-ring knowledge.
“Itâ€s hard to pinpoint anyone specifically, but I feel like thereâ€s a lot, especially in the womenâ€s division. There are so many women that I know are so amazing at what they do, and they donâ€t get enough TV time or the opportunities to really show everyone what they can do. Someone that I love is Candice LeRae, and going through NXT with her and how her brain works and how she goes out there, and sheâ€s like the vet in the ring, she knows what to do and she keeps everyone calm and sheâ€s got ideas and itâ€s just like I wish that someone like her would get more of an opportunity.â€

When news broke recently that both Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods of the New Day were staying put in WWE, having agreed to new contract extensions, it came as little surprise. After all, the duo have been in the WWE system for 19 and 15 years respectively, and have been among the most consistent stables/tag teams during that time, with little reason to leave. And yet, at least one of them was keeping all of their options open.
Fightful Select reports that, while details surrounding Kingston’s negotiations with WWE aren’t clear, given his deal was reached quietly several months ago, that is not the case for Woods. Instead, the former King of the Ring winner’s extension with WWE was said to have “come down to the wire,” indicating that Woods was close to hitting the free agent market before agreeing to terms with WWE.
For those thinking this was a situation where Woods was potentially seeking leverage, that also doesn’t appear to be the case. While Woods’ preference was to remain with WWE, he also found himself in a position where he wouldn’t have to compromise regarding terms, allowing him to make a decision that would be “what was best for him.” In the end, Woods decided the best decision was to stay.
Given how close Woods got to becoming a free agent, it would suggest Woods may have had some interest in speaking with AEW, where Woods’ long-time frenemy Kenny Omega and long-time friends Adam Cole and Claudio Castagnoli work. However, there is no indication that Woods, nor Kingston months earlier, had any contact with AEW.

After a quiet summer, Austin Theory seemed set to emerge in a big way this fall. Recent reports had Theory joining former WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins, Bron Breakker, Bronson Reed, and Paul Heyman as the newest member of The Vision, with Theory’s debut set to occur prior to Survivor Series: WarGames. But those plans have had doubts cast on them after last week, when Rollins was kicked out of The Vision and revealed to be out long-term with a shoulder injury.
For the moment, however, things still look good for Theory, though perhaps not as good as before. Taking to X this morning, Wrestlevotes reported that many voices within WWE were continuing to push for Theory to be involved with the promotion’s ongoing creative plan. It was also confirmed that discussions involving Theory joining The Vision had occurred, and that, regardless if he joined the group or not, Theory had plenty of “internal support” regarding a return in “a significant manner.” While this outlook still appears largely optimistic, and suggests Theory’s return is imminent, it must be noted that the idea of Theory joining The Vision appears to be far less definitive than it was in previous reports.
Sources indicate there are still voices within the company pushing to keep Austin Theory involved in creative plans, even after the recent shuffling caused by Seth Rollins’ injury.
The idea of Theory joining The Vision was at least discussed, and he still has internal support…
— WrestleVotes (@WrestleVotes) October 21, 2025
Theory has been absent from WWE since July 12, when he was defeated by El Grande Americano in an episode of “WWE Main Event.” A week later, Theory’s long-time partner Grayson Waller announced that Theory was injured and that their tag team had officially broken up. Though there was some speculation about Theory’s WWE future after he was removed from the internal roster, it was later confirmed that Theory was still with WWE, and had been moved to the injured section of the internal roster.

The next pay-per-view offering from All Elite Wrestling will be the seventh-annual Full Gear event on November 22, which returns to the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey for the second consecutive year. No matches have been officially signed, but it was confirmed on the “Tailgate Brawl” portion of AEW WrestleDream that ‘Big Boom’ AJ and Big Justice will make their return to the company, with AJ throwing out the challenge to Trent Beretta and Rocky Romero of the Don Callis Family for a tag team match. During the latest edition of “Wrestling Observer Radio,“Â Dave Meltzer speculated on who AJ’s partner will be, and judging by what’s been happening on “ROH on HonorCiub,” the partner will be someone AJ knows very well.
“So the match is going to be at Full Gear, which I kind of figured, they had issued the challenge weeks ago. Apparently from ROH TV it looks like it’s going to be QT [Marshall] as the mystery partner for AJ against Rocky Romero and Trent Beretta.” The match had initially been teased during a post on the official AEW X (formerly known as Twitter) account at the start of October, but it wasn’t until WrestleDream where the match was set up on television.
Both Full Gear and the Prudential Center itself have a special place in the heart of AJ and his family as it was in that arena at AEW Full Gear 2024 where the social media star made his AEW debut. He would go on to defeat QT Marshall on that night, with a little help from Big Justice along the way, and earned a lot of respect from people within AEW after it was revealed that AJ broke his foot during the match, but decided to keep going.

WWE Superstar Shinsuke Nakamura had the wrestling world talking following the recent WWE tour of Japan that saw Nakamura make a number of references to the President of New Japan Pro Wrestling, his long-time friend Hiroshi Tanahashi. Nakamura even shouted Tanahashi out in a post-match promo, leading many to wonder if it’s possible that Nakamura will be Tanahashi’s final opponent when “The Ace” retires from wrestling at NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 20 on January 4. Various things would have to fall into place in order for it to happen, but Dave Meltzer stated on “Wrestling Observer Radio” that it isn’t out of the realm of possibility.
“I would just say, it’s not a done deal right now. Could it happen? I mean Nakamura has in his contract he can do stuff in Japan, that was part of the deal he signed. So it’s a weird political thing, because obviously New Japan and AEW work very closely together.” Meltzer noted that a WWE Superstar has appeared on a New Japan show since the company established a partnership with AEW, that being Karl Anderson at Wrestle Kingdom 17, who was under contract with WWE when he dropped the NEVER Openweight Championship to Tama Tonga. However, Meltzer claimed that was a very difficult match to pull off due to the negotiations backstage.
With that said, Meltzer believes that all of the talk of AEW President Tony Khan being angry with New Japan potentially bringing Nakamura in likely won’t happen because, at the end of the day, it’s Tanahashi’s decision. “My gut is that, and I could be dead wrong, but even though WWE and AEW are feuding and all the stuff WWE does to AEW constantly. I do think that Tony Khan, I don’t know. People are going ‘oh he’s going to get really mad’ I don’t know. Maybe he will but I don’t think so. I just think it’s Tanahashi’s retirement and if Tanahashi wants to retire against Nakamura and they can pull that off, I think it should be okay.”

Last Monday on “Raw,” WWE’s future plans seemed to go up in smoke after news emerged that WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins had suffered a shoulder injury and would need surgery, leaving him out of action for the foreseeable future. While WWE moved quickly to explain his absence by having The Vision turn on Rollins, it did little to explain future plans for the World Heavyweight Title, which Rollins was scheduled to defend against CM Punk at “Saturday Night’s Main Event” on November 1.
Whatever idea WWE has should be revealed tonight, however, as Bodyslam+ reports that Punk’s opponent for “SNME” will be determined on this evening’s edition of “Raw.” But it won’t be decided in a regular singles match or even a three-way or four-way bout, with WWE instead expected to hold a battle royal, with the winner earning a title shot.
No names, nor number of participants, were confirmed for this battle royal, leaving it impossible to predict at the moment. Some fans will surely speculate that The Vision’s Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed will be among the favorites, should they participate. Breakker was the one who led the attack on Rollins just one week ago, and photos from after the show showed the former NXT Champion posing with the World Heavyweight title.
Meanwhile, Reed just recently picked up the biggest win of his career, defeating Roman Reigns in an Australian Street Fight at Crown Jewel. Other potential contenders could be former champion Jey Uso and LA Knight, who both came up short against Punk last week on “Raw” in the match to determine Rollins’ challenger.

AEW WrestleDream 2025 is upon us, and with 13 matches between the “Tailgate Brawl” and the main card, there has been a lot of talk as to what match will potentially main event the show in St. Louis, Missouri. That talk has seemingly been put to rest according to a new report from Fightful Select as the match order has reportedly been revealed.
According to the Fightful report, the main event of WrestleDream is going to be the “I Quit” match between Darby Allin and Jon Moxley. Their feud has been closing several episodes of “AEW Dynamite” in the lead up to WrestleDream, and given that a number of fans are genuinely terrified of what the two men will do to each other, it was only natural that WrestleDream goes off the air in the most brutal way imaginable.
As for the full match other, the “Tailgate Brawl” portion of the show that will air on TNT will kick off with The Conglomeration taking on the Death Riders in an eight man tag team match. That will be followed by Eddie Kingston and Hook teaming up for a tag team match of their own, with Megan Bayne and Penelope Ford taking on Harley Cameron and Willow Nightingale immediately after. “Tailgate Brawl” is set to be headlined by the match between FTR and JetSpeed.
The main card will reportedly open with a major grudge match as Jamie Hayter will take on Thekla, which will then be followed by The Young Bucks and the Jurassic Express fighting over $500,000, and the Tornado Trios match between The Demand and The Hurt Syndicate will go on third. The five title matches of the night will then take place one after another, with Kyle Fletcher defending the AEW TNT Championship against Mark Briscoe, which will be followed by Kris Statlander defending the AEW Women’s World Championship against “Timeless” Toni Storm.
Immediately after the first women’s title match of the night will be the second women’s title match of the night as Mercedes Mone will issue an open challenge to any champion in the world for a “Champion vs. Champion” match. Brodido will then take on Kazuchika Okada and Konosuke Takeshita for the AEW Tag Team Championships, and the AEW Men’s World Championship match between Hangman Page and Samoa Joe will be the penultimate match of the night. All of that will be followed by the aforementioned “I Quit” match between Allin and Moxley.
Kairi Sane may be caught in WWEâ€s most toxic on-screen partnership right now, but behind the scenes, sheâ€s getting serious respect.
On October 15, 2025, WrestleVotes reportedthat multiple sources within WWE had high praise for Kairiâ€s recent performances—specifically pointing to her emotional backstage segments with Asuka and her hard-fought match against Rhea Ripley on RAW.
According to the report, there was “high praise following her match with Rhea Ripley on RAW this past Monday & from her recent backstage segments with Asuka.†The acknowledgment comes at a pivotal moment in Kairiâ€s WWE career, as her character continues to unravel.
That praise is well-earned. On the RAW following Crown Jewel 2025, Kairi stepped into the ring with Rhea Ripley after being publicly berated—and slapped—by Asuka backstage. The segment drew gasps from the live crowd in Perth and set the tone for what would become a dramatic, emotionally charged match.
Kairi even reintroduced her original entrance theme, “The Next Voyage†by CFO$, sparking a wave of nostalgia among fans who associate that theme with her most memorable WWE run. While Ripley ultimately scored the victory with a brutal Riptide, Kairi left it all in the ring—fighting back with stiff offense and showing a fiercer edge than fans have seen in years.
The aftermath of the match didnâ€t cool things down. Ripley attempted to slam Asuka through the announce table, prompting Kairi to interfere with a kendo stick—only to get planted with a devastating DDT through the desk herself.
Despite the losses, Kairiâ€s performances have reignited interest in her character, and backstage officials are taking notice. Whether this leads to a solo push or a dramatic split from Asuka and Damage CTRL remains to be seen, but itâ€s clear Kairi is once again proving her value in and out of the ring.
Do you think itâ€s time for WWE to pull the trigger on a strong Kairi Sane singles run? Please share your thoughts and feedback in the comment section below.
