Los Angeles Lakers guard Austin Reaves got a kick out of starting alongside Bronny James, and not his father, during Saturday night’s win over the Milwaukee Bucks.

“How about Bronny James starting in the NBA, and LeBron’s assigned to the G League? That’s fun. That’s awesome,” Reaves said after the 119-95 victory (h/t ESPN’s Dave McMenamin).

LeBron is practicing with the Lakers’ G League affiliate while ramping up his rehab from the sciatica that has sidelined him for the beginning of the 2025-26 season.

“I told him he should play a game,” Reaves said about James’ stint with the South Bay Lakers. “Still, I still don’t believe it.”

Bronny meanwhile made his first start of the season with the Lakers while Rui Hachimura and Marcus Smart were sidelined against the Bucks.

He ultimately recorded no points and was minus-6 in 10 minutes on the court, going 0-for-2 from deep while contributing one assist, one rebound and a steal.

The outing marked the second start of James’ NBA career. He previously started, and played more than 38 minutes, in last season’s regular-season finale loss to the Portland Trail Blazers.

So far during his second NBA season, James has come in and out of the lineup while averaging around 12 minutes per game while playing. His most productive game, a nine-point performance on Nov. 8, came when JJ Redick let him play out the fourth quarter of a blowout loss at the Atlanta Hawks.

The Lakers had a more successful outing Saturday, when they surged out to a 12-point lead by the end of the first quarter.

Luka DonÄić racked up 41 points, while Reaves posted 25 points and Deandre Ayton contributed 20 points and 10 rebounds to the win.

McMenamin reported Friday that LeBron James had rejoined five-on-five practice as a full participant for the first time in “nearly six months,” and that he could potentially make his season debut during next Tuesday’s home game against the Utah Jazz.

The Lakers will hope getting the elder James back to play alongside DonÄić, Reaves and Ayton will help the team stay competitive in the crowded top of the Western Conference.

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott isn’t planning on retiring anytime soon, as the 32-year-old envisions playing into his 40s.

“Forties would be a good number,” Prescott said, according to ESPN’s Todd Archer. “Obviously, I’ve been through some injuries; played very physical in college so if I can get to 40 playing at the standard that I want, yeah, that would be awesome.”

The veteran signal-caller will turn 40 years old just before the start of the 2033 season. Prescott is currently under contract through his age-35 season in 2028.

Quarterbacks playing into their 40s has become more common over the past few years, with legendary passers such as Tom Brady and Drew Brees retiring at 44 and 42 years old respectively.

As for current quarterbacks, Pittsburgh Steelers signal-caller Aaron Rodgers will turn 42 years old on Dec. 2. New Cincinnati Bengals passer Joe Flacco is also 40 years old.

“I can see it more realistically now,” Prescott said, per Archer. “And I think as much as anything, the fun and the peace that this game still gives me 10 years in is going to be hard [to move on from]. You can’t supplement it, so as long as I can do this at a level that I’m proud and happy with, I’ll keep trying.”

Staying healthy will obviously be important for Prescott if he ultimately plays into his 40s. While he suited up in all 17 regular-season games in 2023, he only made eight appearances last season due to a hamstring injury.

Prescott has looked sharp under center this year, completing 71.3 percent of his throws for 1,356 yards and 10 touchdowns compared to just three interceptions across five starts.

The Cowboys currently sit at 2-2-1.

This past Saturday night, WWE debuted its first Premium Live Event on ESPN called Wrestlepalooza. One of the most talked about matches of the night was the singles match between the Dark Angel Stephanie Vaquer and the Genius of the Sky IYO SKY for the vacant Womenâ€s World Championship.

Vaquer managed to pick up the win and captured her first World title on the main roster. A Hall of Famer praised the match and WWEâ€s decision to put the strap on the Dark Angel.

The wrestling legend was none other than the Wrestling God, JBL. While speaking on a recent episode of the Something to Wrestle podcast, JBL praised Stephanie Vaquer. The WWE Hall of Famer believes the Dark Angel has all the potential to become the brand of the division.

“Sheâ€s incredibly popular, and her social media presence is awesome. So I think it makes perfect sense. The direction weâ€re headed is people that can be brands, and she can be a brand, and she already is developing as a brand. So I think itâ€s a terrific move to go ahead and let her go to the higher level, because she was already getting there. Which I think is a sign to a lot of guys out there – youâ€ve gotta do more than just wait on creative. Youâ€ve gotta create yourself on social media. I rag on these guys so much for being on their phones, but thereâ€s a reason sometimes that you are, because of social media,†JBL said. [H/T WrestlingNews.co]

Now, Stephanie Vaquerâ€s next major match will be taking place next month on October 11 at the Crown Jewel PLE. She will be challenging the WWE Womenâ€s Champion for the Womenâ€s Crown Jewel Title.

What are your thoughts on Vaquer becoming the new Womenâ€s World Champion?
