WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg recently discussed his legendary undefeated streak in WCW and reacted to Asuka surpassing his record number of consecutive wins in WWE. Goldberg famously claimed 173 victories during WCW’s peak in the Monday Night Wars.
Appearing on Real Talk with Mike Burke, the host suggested that a dominant streak like Goldberg’s would never happen again in modern wrestling. Goldberg quickly corrected him, pointing to Asuka’s historic run in WWE. “They already did,†Goldberg stated. “Some girl at WWE. They did it on purpose”. Goldberg clarified his comment wasn’t directed at the performer herself. “I have nothing against the girl, by any means, but yeah,” he added. Asuka went undefeated for 914 days in WWE, surpassing Goldberg’s official number of consecutive wins.
Goldberg then elaborated on his perspective regarding WWE, stemming from his time in WCW during the Monday Night Wars. “The whole WWE experience…I was part of WCW when we were kicking their ass in the Monday Night Wars. I didnâ€t know what was going on at the time, I was just on one of the sides,” Goldberg recalled. He discussed the dynamic after WCW folded.
“Now, one side dissolves and the other one consumes everything, so they can treat everyone and everything the way they want,” he said. Goldberg believes his success during that era still irks WWE. “I think there is always going to be the bird in their ass that I was part of a company where I was the champion in a very short period of time and we were beating them in the ratings,†he concluded.
Goldberg officially retired from professional wrestling earlier this year, competing in his final match against Gunther in July, where he came up short.

Rhea Ripley and Iyo Sky beat Asuka and Kairi Sane in a tag team grudge match at WWE Crown Jewel in Ripley’s home country of Australia on Saturday.
Sky hit Sane with an Over The Moonsault to pick up the victory and get some revenge on her former friends in the process.
Shortly after returning from a lengthy injury absence this past summer, Asuka reunited with Sane to reform The Kabuki Warriors, and they began interacting with former Damage CTRL stablemate Sky as well.
However, at the same time, The Genius of the Sky had a blossoming friendship with Ripley, which developed out of the respect they gained for each other amid battles for the Women’s World Championship.
Asuka clearly started to become jealous of the relationship, leading her to warn the Australian to stay away from Sky on numerous occasions.
With tension building between them, Ripley and The Empress of Tomorrow ended up clashing in a singles match on the Sept. 22 episode of Raw.
After Ripley scored the victory, Asuka sprayed and blinded her with poison mist. The Empress and Sane then proceeded to launch a two-on-one attack against The Eradicator before Sky ran down to make the save.
Sky appealed to them to stop, and while Asuka initially hugged her, she subsequently betrayed her by hitting The Genius of the Sky with a spinning back fist.
One week later, Ripley tried to convince Sky to end her relationship with Asuka and Sane. Sky called them her family and left the ring, but The Kabuki Warriors then jumped the Aussie star.
Sky ran to the ring to put a stop to it, only for Asuka to mist her. The Empress and Sane then brutally attacked Iyo and Rhea, which led to Sky requesting a tag team match at Crown Jewel.
Although Asuka and Sane had the advantage in terms of experience as a team, Ripley and Sky rose to the occasion at Crown Jewel, and The Eradicator scored a big victory in front of her home fans.

For years, Asuka, Iyo Sky, and Kairi Sane have been best friends both in and out of the ring. They had a lot of shared experience wrestling in Japan, being highly scouted before coming to wrestle for WWE.
Asuka and Sane have been a tag team called The Kabuki Warriors for several years now. They joined Sky alongside Bayley and Dakota Kai when Damage CTRL was an active faction.
After Bayley got kicked out and Kai got released, they decided to stick together. However, their friendship completely imploded due to Skyâ€s association with Rhea Ripley.
A few weeks ago on Monday Night Raw, Asuka turned on Sky due to her Ripley connection with Sane stuck in the middle. To get viewers caught up on the story, the WWE YouTube channel uploaded another WWE Playlist video about how things got to where they are. This video goes into detail about how things got so bad between seemingly inseparable friends.
This video chronicles how Sky and The Kabuki Warriors went from friends to enemies. The interesting thing about this story is that Asuka is the one whoâ€s angry, Sky wants to forgive Asuka, Ripley wants Sky to walk away from both of them, and Sane is stuck in the middle. Itâ€s not as simple as just Asuka and Sky hating each other. Sane and Ripley are very important to the story as well.

The story is woven throughout multiple matches and backstage segments. There have been consequential things happening in matches with Nikki Bella, Stephanie Vaquer, and others. Asuka and Sky havenâ€t had a one-on-one match yet or even a confrontation. The whole buildup has happened as the three have wrestled other women.
The matches are served as a way to drive the story forward, which is smart. Once they actually wrestle each other, the payoff is going to be well earned.
Overall, this was a great video showing how a great friendship crumbled in a short amount of time. In wrestling, there are always sudden turns and betrayals between friends. This type of video produced by WWE is a great way to show fans what happened in a straightforward way so they can fully understand the story.
Each week, Sky and Ripley got closer and closer with each other. That put an immense strain onto the friendship between Asuka and Sky. When Sky ran out to stop Asuka and Sane from beating down Ripley, Asuka finally snapped on her former friend. She had enough of someone she trusted for years helping someone whoâ€s been a rival.
Itâ€ll be interesting to see where Sane goes with all of this, as she is clearly stuck between obeying Asuka and helping Sky. With the go-home Raw and Crown Jewel coming up next week, the story between them and Ripley will certainly embark on its next compelling chapter.
Asuka had jokes on September 30, and nobody was safe—especially not Rhea Ripley and IYO SKY. Following the chaotic events on WWE RAW in Raleigh, Asuka took to Twitter and fired off a savage post aimed at both stars, comparing them to Smurfs.
In her post, Asuka shared a screenshot from the backstage segment where Rhea Ripley and IYO SKY were seen together following IYOâ€s mist attack. But she didnâ€t stop there—Asuka photoshopped Smurf hats onto both of them and captioned it:
“Wait, Smurfs â‰ï¸ðŸ¤¡ðŸ’¦â€
The post instantly caught fire online, especially since it followed a RAW segment that left IYO Sky laid out and mist-covered after a betrayal from her own Damage CTRL allies, Asuka and Kairi Sane.
During the segment, Ripley confronted the Damage CTRL trio, accusing them of betrayal. IYO, despite still being part of the group, insisted she wouldnâ€t fight her teammates—but was quickly proven wrong when Kairi and Asuka ambushed Ripley. IYO rushed back to help, only to get sprayed in the face with Asukaâ€s mist.
Fans expected some sort of follow-up on social media, but no one predicted Asuka would literally turn the encounter into a Smurf-themed roast.
This isnâ€t the first time Asuka has used her social media to troll opponents, and with the damage she and Kairi inflicted on RAW, it probably wonâ€t be the last. Asuka clearly isnâ€t done causing chaos online or in the ring.
What do you think of Asukaâ€s post? Is she just having fun, or is this part of a bigger message aimed at IYO and Ripley? Sound off in the comments below.

Asuka is reflecting on ten years in WWE.
On social media Tuesday, the former Womenâ€s Champion wrote in detail about her goals in WWE as she enters her tenth year with the company.
“I believe that ideals and convictions, what one sets out to achieve, hold more value than what one has actually accomplished. I have obtained every record, everything there is to obtain, but these are all merely waypoints. What has universal value and beauty is pioneering a new era, possessing the power to change the times,†she wrote.

“Thatâ€s why I pursue how I can bring change and ideals to the ring, creating ‘before and after Kana†and ‘before and after Asuka.†Creating a path is far more difficult than walking down a path that others have made. And therein lies the most beautiful aesthetic of all. For me, living as a pioneer and living with conviction, philosophy, and aesthetics is a very important way of life,†she added.
Asuka signed with WWE in 2015 and made her first NXT appearance back on the September 23 edition of the program. Two years later, she made her main roster debut. Throughout the years, she has won the WWE Womenâ€s Championship three times, the Womenâ€s World Championship once, and is a four-time WWE Womenâ€s Tag Team Champion, holding the title twice with Kairi Sane as The Kabuki Warriors.

Asuka had finally had enough of IYO SKY, and let it be known tonight in a shocking move.
During Mondayâ€s episode of WWE RAW, Asuka turned on IYO, attacking her former friend and shocking the WWE Universe. The moment came after a match between Rhea Ripley and Asuka, in which Ripley lost. Following the loss, Asuka didnâ€t take it too well, and hit Ripley with some green mist.
With Ripley down and dealing with the mist, SKY quickly tried to talk some sense into her friend. She seemed to have calmed Asuka down, but it was all a trick. Asuka turned to move away from IYO before delivering a vicious spinning backhand to her former friend. A stunned Kairi Sane couldnâ€t believe what she was watching, but that was just the start.
After knocking down IYO, Asuka then demanded that Kairi join in. It took some demanding and pleading, but Sane eventually began attacking SKY as well. The pair then spent some time going at it, with Asuka eventually dropping SKY with a big kick, then hitting Ripley with her finisher.

The Kabuki Warriors have now officially turned their backs on IYO SKY. On Monday’s episode of “WWE Raw,” a loss to Rhea Ripley in the show’s main event officially sent Asuka over the edge, and after a brutal post-match attack on Ripley and an emerging SKY, Asuka and Kairi Sane left the building, concretely heels.
After weeks of aggressive words with Asuka, Ripley looked to settle her differences with the former WWE Women’s Champion in the ring. The two had a hard back and forth fight that brought out the best in Asuka’s submission game and pushed Ripley’s powerhouse abilities to their limit. In the match’s final moments, the wily Asuka pressured a ringside Sane to strike Ripley. Sane, while initially hesitant, ultimately swung at “The Eradicator,” just to have her fist caught. Any extension of mercy from Ripley to Sane was interrupted by Asuka, who took advantage of the distraction with a Hip Attack attempt. Ripley dodged, and Asuka’s blow sent Sane crashing to the floor. Ripley capitalized on the chaos with a flash-pin for the win, and while Ripley earned her victory on paper, she soon became subject to a violent beat-down.
Asuka wasted no time misting Ripley after the bell. While blue venom streaked down Ripley’s face, Sane finally succumbed to peer pressure, and began bludgeoning Ripley. SKY came to break up the beatdown, and for a moment, it seems that SKY had managed to reconcile with the irate Asuka. SKY’s embrace with her old friend, however, turned into her undoing, and Asuka mercilessly struck SKY with a Spinning Back Elbow. Sane flattened SKY with an Asuka-assisted Insane Elbow to end the show.
The turn comes after weeks of infighting between The Kabuki Warriors and SKY. Moments before the betrayal, Asuka criticized SKY for her recent Wrestlepalooza loss in a tense backstage segment.
