D‑Von Dudley has revealed that his brief talks with AEW didnâ€t go the way he hoped. In a new interview with Video Gamer, the former WWE Tag Team Champion claimed that AEW President Tony Khan kept trying to push him to wrestle — even after D‑Von repeatedly said he wanted to work backstage instead.

The WWE legend said he made it crystal clear he didnâ€t want to step into the ring again, but Khan refused to let the topic go.

“I expressed to Tony that I didnâ€t wanna wrestle. He kept trying to push it. I told him I donâ€t wanna wrestle anymore. And he wasnâ€t taking no for an answer. He couldnâ€t get that through his head,†D‑Von said. “Iâ€ve had three meetings with him and all three were a bust!â€

D‑Von said he only wanted to work as a producer and believed his in‑ring career was already complete. Instead, he walked away from AEW altogether, saying the discussions never went anywhere productive.

The ECW and WWE veteran also admitted that he didnâ€t feel AEWâ€s environment would suit him.

“I donâ€t know if I wouldâ€ve felt comfortable in AEW. Thereâ€s just certain things about the organization that I donâ€t like,†he said.

D‑Vonâ€s account paints a picture of frustration and miscommunication, with Khan reportedly unable to accept that Dudley had no desire to wrestle again. D‑Von made it clear—he was done wrestling and only wanted to help behind the scenes. But after three failed meetings and repeated pressure from Tony Khan to get back in the ring, he walked away for good. AEW just wasnâ€t the right fit.
