Following the success of the Cumbria Junior 1 Star Tournament held in April, Kirkby Stephen Table Tennis Club is pleased to announce a Cumbria Junior & Adult 2 Star Competition on Saturday, 6th December.

This event is designed especially for cadet and junior players aged 11–19 who are new to open competitions, using a banded group format to ensure plenty of competitive matches at an appropriate level.

We warmly encourage clubs across the North West to support this event and to invite their players to take part. The entry form can be downloaded here (closing date: 26 November 2025). As a 2 Star Table Tennis England event, players will have the opportunity to earn national ranking points—an important early step on the competitive pathway. We also welcome entries from players outside the region.

Competition Format

To ensure the tournament remains accessible for beginners and younger juniors, the event will adopt a banded structure, grouping players by playing standard:

• Band 1 – more experienced players
• Band 7 – younger or less experienced players

The competition is open to all juniors (U19). Players will compete in groups of up to 7 or 8, playing round-robin matches against every player in their band. Medals will be awarded to the winner and runner-up of each band.

Entry Fees & Requirements

• Entry fee: £18 juniors
• All players must hold a valid Table Tennis England competition licence:
  • Compete Plus membership: U11 – Free / U19 – £24
  • Single-day tournament licence: £5 for juniors, free for U11s

Venue & Facilities

The venue includes a spectator viewing gallery with ample space for families and supporters. Refreshments will be available throughout the day.
