During a conversation with Video Gamer, the WWE Hall of Famer was asked about the growing trend of influencer crossovers in pro wrestling. While he gave Paul credit for stepping up and taking the sport seriously, D-Von made it clear that back in his day, someone like Logan wouldnâ€t have been welcomed so easily.
“I think heâ€s a true athlete and he takes the game very seriously and my hat goes off to him,†D-Von said. “But he wouldnâ€t have fit in during WCW. I say that respectfully because a lot of these old school guys would not have liked that. They wouldâ€ve been trying to mess with him, trying to get him to crack, and that was the way the business was back then. They werenâ€t letting outside people into our locker room at that. There was always a problem.â€
Back then, respect had to be earned the hard way—and locker rooms were fiercely guarded. D-Vonâ€s comments echo what many veterans have said about the business during that era: outsiders were often hazed or driven out.
