Panini jumped headfirst into exclusive prospect baseball card releases with 2024 Prospect Edition, and now information has started to surface for the second-annual installment.
2025 Panini Prospect Edition is tentatively scheduled for a Dec. 17 release, Baseball America has learned, though release dates are always subject to change.
This year’s Prospect Edition is expected to include players taken in the 2025 MLB Draft with a release date closer to the usual December release of the popular Bowman Draft. Last year’s inaugural Prospect Edition came out in March 2025. No release date has yet been announced for 2025 Bowman Draft.
Panini’s 2025 Prospect Edition will be available in hobby formats priced at $150 and blaster boxes for $25. Hobby boxes will include six packs with eight cards each. Of the 48 cards, roughly 12 will be parallels and six will be holo parallels. There will also be four autographs, according to Panini. Blasters will have six four-card packs with one autograph per box.
After most of the 2024 autographs were sticker autographs, Panini has also indicated that a number of this year’s autographs will be written on-card.
Panini’s hugely popular “Kaboom!” case hit is set to return for 2025, with a checklist that goes beyond prospects. Below, Baseball America subscribers can get an exclusive first look at the full 20-player checklist:

Base cards will feature a “ticket” design similar to last year’s base design:

Another early product image released by Panini shows an autographed insert card of this year’s No. 4 overall draft pick, Ethan Holliday:

Panini does not have a license with MLB, so the cards will not feature team names or logos.
The full checklist has not yet been released, nor has Panini announced if the 2025 Prospect Edition will have a “First Off The Line” prerelease featuring extra-low-numbered hit cards as the series did last year.
