WWE star Rusev seemingly had a rough time in his early days in the Stamford-based company.
The Bulgarian Brute first signed with World Wrestling Entertainment in 2010 and seemingly had a rough start in his first run. Coming into the active scene, he soon sustained an ACL and meniscus injury. This led to him being out of action for six months, which drastically affected his momentum. After he was back, he injured his neck, which led to temporary paralysis in his arms.
Coming back from this injury, he was given quite a short timeline of two months to make an impact. Speaking in an interview with CBS Sports, Rusev stated:
Again, I was pushed against the wall with nowhere else to go. I remember that very vividly… After having that meeting about, ‘You have this much time left here,’ I once again went back and started revisiting my character. What could I do better? If you ask something of me, I’ll deliver.”
The Decade!

It appears that he made good use of his time during that period, as he was promoted to the main roster the very next year.
Rusev Is Currently Pursuing The WWE Intercontinental Championship
Rusev has his eyes set on Dominik Mysterio’s title now after returning to the Stamford-based promotion.
The Bulgarian Brute has made his intentions known quite clearly, cutting a scathing promo on Dominik recently. He claimed that Dirty Dom was between him and the title that he wanted, which made the young Mysterio his target. Rusev then made a chilling promise, stating that he was going to break his adversary’s spine and no one could stop him.

Even with Dominik Mysterio getting the support of The Judgment Day, it is likely that facing Rusev will prove a challenge. Whether Dirty Dom will be able to hold on to his WWE Intercontinental Title, remains to be seen.
