AJ Lee had seemingly addressed her WWE absence amid rumors that she may be injured, but that isnâ€t the case.
The real-life April Mendez made her pro wrestling comeback in the lead-up to WWE Wrestlepalooza. Her in-ring return took place in a tag team match alongside her husband, CM Punk, against Becky Lynch and Seth Rollins at the September 20 premium live event.
AJ Lee hasnâ€t appeared in a WWE ring since submitting Lynch, prompting fans to speculate that her absence might be due to an injury. Amid the concerns, it seemed like AJ Lee took to social media to address her absence and put an end to the injury rumors.
“On a book tour. Not injured, but I appreciate the concern. Also, thanks Becky Lynch for keeping the title warm for me. Momma will be back, soon,†a post on a Facebook account claiming to be Lee said.
A match between Lee and Lynch would be the ideal direction for Survivor Series, with AJâ€s submission of Lynch at Wrestlepalooza tying into their ongoing feud.
However, that post was fake.
PWInsider.com is reporting that in checking “with both WWE sources and sources in the publishing world, thereâ€s no book tour.†The Facebook account and post claiming to be Lee is a fake. The account has since been deleted.
Becky Lynch is currently involved in a title feud with Maxxine Dupri. The two faced off for the championship this past Monday on RAW, where Lynch retained the title via disqualification. In a post-match promo, Becky shifted the blame to referee Jessica Carr, prompting a response from the official.
Despite the book tour being fake, Lee does have a couple of upcoming appearances booked, including one at Comic Creators Block Party on November 8.
