A WWE Superstar has fully embraced his former gimmick after his recent return to the promotion.
The October 10 episode of WWE SmackDown saw the MFT donning and new avatar and coming back with a vengeance. The one person from the group who seems to have inspired the new look of the faction was Tama Tonga who made his return to World Wrestling Entertainment after a six-month hiatus due to injury.
Tama Tonga Acknowledges Former Gimmick After WWE Return
Tama Tonga, along with the rest of the group, was seen donning face paint similar to the one the former WWE Tag Team Champion used to wear during his time in New Japan Pro-Wrestling as part of Guerillas of Destiny alongside his brothers Tonga Loa (fka Tanga Loa) and Tala Tonga (fka Hikuleo). He also painted his face when he was part of the Bullet Club
The multiple-time tag team champion shared an ominous warning to other stars on the roster, reminding everyone that his old and vicious version was back. He took to his Instagram, where he shared pictures from his time in GoD and Bullet Club, with the following caption:
“So they know, boys… 🤘ðŸ¾.”

When he was in NJPW, he, along with his brothers, ran roughshod on the tag division, winning the IWGP Tag Team Championship 7 times. When they jumped to the Stamford-based promotion, they found success by allying with Solo Sikoa and winning the promotion’s Tag Team Championship.
Before his recent return, Tama Tonga was hinted to be the missing piece Sikoa needed to get his “family” back to their winning ways. The faction now seems to be embroiled in a feud with current WWE Tag Team Champions The Wyatt Sicks, which was sparked off when the two groups came face to face with each other on last week’s episode of SmackDown.
Fans have been eagerly waiting for a feud between the two factions, and it will be interesting to see how the whole storyline plays out in the weeks ahead.
