WWE Crown Jewel: Perth has a stacked card featuring the majority of the top stars of the promotion in action.
However, one big name that appears to be missing from the premium live event is WWE Women’s Intercontinental Champion, Becky Lynch, who, given her prominence, is an odd exclusion to make, and the reason for the same has just been revealed.
Real Reason For Becky Lynch’s Absence At WWE Crown Jewel Revealed
Wrestling journalist Sean Ross Sapp spoke about the same on the latest episode of Fightful’s The Hump, where he stated that The Man was simply taking some time off, as she was not booked for the event.
World Wrestling Entertainment sowed the seeds of her absence when, in a backstage segment, she mentioned that she needed time to re-evaluate herself after a shocking loss to Maxxine Dupri on the latest edition of RAW.
Sapp said:
Itâ€s just her taking that show off–those shows off–because sheâ€s not booked for the PLE. They can make it work. Thereâ€s no reason to fly people over there just to have them there.â€
Sapp also mentioned that the Stamford-based promotion decided not to fly talents who would not be used at the PLE, as the trip was a grueling one and made no sense to undertake unless the stars were booked for the show:
Thatâ€s like a 22-hour flight, man. Thatâ€s a tough trip. I really want to go to Australia, but I donâ€t want to take that flight. You feel like you live there by the time you land. And then you have to do it all over again, coming back. Thatâ€s like 40 to 45 hours total on a plane when you count airport time. Sheâ€ll be back in two weeks, and thatâ€ll be that.â€
