Quebec City has been chosen to host two major international hockey tournaments later this decade.

The 2027 women’s world championship and the 2029 world juniors will both be hosted by Quebec City at the Centre Vidéotron. Trois-Rivieres will serve as co-host for the world juniors and host Group B games at Colisée Vidéotron.

The province of Quebec, the City of Quebec and the City of Trois-Rivières will contribute a combined $10.38 million to the events.

“Hosting IIHF championships in Canada is a tremendous privilege,” Hockey Canada CEO Katherine Henderson said in a statement. “We are thrilled that our National Women’s Team and our National Junior Team will be competing for medals on home soil in front of passionate crowds, and we look forward to welcoming hockey fans to Quebec in 2027 and 2029.”

The last time Canada hosted the women’s world championship was in Brampton, Ont., in 2023. The 2025 tournament was hosted in Czechia, and a host for 2026 has not yet been chosen.

Ottawa hosted the World Juniors in 2024 and Canada is next scheduled to host the tournament in 2027 at a site yet to be chosen. The 2026 tournament will be held in Minnesota.
