With WWE RAW live from Madison Square Garden tonight and the wrestling world locked in on John Cenaâ€s farewell match, it looks like another major name could be stepping back into a WWE ring—this time under a new identity.
Fightful Select reports that WWE has internally prepared materials for a match featuring Solo Sikoa going one-on-one with former WWE Superstar Dolph Ziggler, now competing under his real name, Nic Nemeth. The report states that this is the direction WWE was moving toward as of Monday afternoon.
“Fightful Select spoke with WWE sources who claimed that materials were produced in relation to Dolph Ziggler taking on Solo Sikoa on tonightâ€s episode of Raw. Ziggler competed in WWE for over 15 years, and now goes by his real name, Nic Nemeth.â€
While thereâ€s always a chance plans could shift before airtime, this latest internal development appears to shut down rampant speculation about Joe Hendry being revealed as Soloâ€s mystery opponent tonight. Hendry recently signed with WWE after his TNA contract expired, and heâ€s already made appearances at WrestleMania and on NXT programming. That led many fans to believe he could be next in line for a surprise main roster appearance.
If WWE sticks with the plan, fans at MSG will witness a major return in the form of Nic Nemeth facing off with one of the Bloodlineâ€s most dominant members in what could be a career-redefining clash.
Do you want to see Nic Nemeth back on WWE programming full-time—or should he stay independent? Sound off in the comments section and let us know how you feel about this potential RAW showdown.
