Ella Pashley spearheads the England squad travelling to Ireland for the Home Countries Championships this weekend.
It has been a busy and momentous few weeks for Pashley (pictured above), who made her major tournament debut at the European Championships last month and followed up with two big victories at the WTT Star Contender London, before winning the Under-21 National Cup.
She is in the Senior Women’s team, alongside Sienna Jetha, who also played at the Star Contender and is one of only two players who featured in this tournament two years ago.
The other is Isaac Kingham, who steps up from the Junior to Senior category, alongside Jakub Piwowar, the third player in the squad to have featured at the WTT event at the Copper Box Arena.
The full squad is:
- Senior – Isaac Kingham, Jakub Piwowar, Sienna Jetha, Ella Pashley
- Junior – Zac Greenhough, Pablo Ramirez Rioja, Eva Eccles, Rachael Iles
- Cadet – Ryan Goodier, Sinan Surensoy, Alyssa Nguyen, Soraya Rahmani-Walentynska
The event at University College Dublin also features the hosts, Wales, Scotland, Isle of Man, Guernsey and Jersey.
Jersey’s Senior Women’s team is led by Hannah Silcock, another who had an eye-catching result at WTT Star Contender London, beating world No 143 Debora Vivarelli of Italy.
At the last Home Countries event two years ago in Bangor, Wales, England won all six team events as well as a stack of individual medals.
