NFL player Cam Skattebo is firing back at criticism of his WWE Raw appearance.
The phenom rookie running back suffered an injury during week eight of the NFL season and is expected to miss the rest of the season. At Madison Square Garden last night, Skattebo was among the New York Giants players who were in attendance for Raw. He got involved in an angle where he defended comedian Andrew Schulz from The Judgment Day — and Skattebo did play a somewhat physical role in the segment when he was shoved multiple times.
Skattebo’s WWE cameo has become a topic of discussion on New York radio and other sports media, with the 23-year-old rookie receiving criticism for getting involved physically while recovering from surgery for a dislocated ankle. Skattebo responded to those critics — and those who were critical of him being at UFC 322 last weekend — by tweeting that he’s just trying to have fun while unable to play football.
“Aye, honestly if you donâ€t like that Iâ€m having a good time while dealing with a tough time, then just go ahead and unfollow and casually move on,” he wrote. “Iâ€m not able to play football and have the fun Iâ€ve been having my whole life so I am doing things outside the box trying to find stuff to keep me happy. Enjoy the rest of yâ€allâ€s week and just donâ€t talk about me if you ainâ€t got nothing nice to say.”
Along with the dislocated ankle, Skattebo suffered a fibula fracture and deltoid ligament rupture during the Giants’ game against the Philadelphia Eagles on October 26. He was selected by the Giants in the fourth round of the 2025 NFL Draft after starring for Arizona State.
