Moose is excited to get back in a TNA ring when the promotion goes “home†for a taping in Orlando.
The three-time TNA World Champion spoke with WrestleZone Managing Editor Bill Pritchard ahead of TNAâ€s TV tapings that take place in Orlando from November 13-15. TNA will go live on Thursday, November 13, marking its first live broadcast since its Bound For Glory pay-per-view on October 12.
TNA took a hiatus from first-run content after the huge event, which has been a bit frustrating for fans. Moose also said he feels for talent like new TNA World Champion Mike Santana, who hasnâ€t gotten a chance to capitalize on the momentum coming out of BFG. However, he also understands why the company took a few weeks off, noting that the excitement will still pick back up in Orlando.
“Mike Santana, he just won the title and essentially brought it back home — first time world champion, did it in front of the biggest crowd that TNA has had in I think in the history of the company — and then we take four weeks off. So I feel most sad for him because, in my opinion, thatâ€s not the way that should happen,†Moose explained. “But at the same time, I trust Carlos [Silva]. I trust the team. I understand what the reasons why they did it. Iâ€m on board, but at the same time, I feel bad for guys like [Santana] and other guys on our roster who love the fire that we got going on.
Moose says TNA fans need to trust the process
“At the end of the day, we all just got to be patient because the team, and Carlos as the head of the team, knows exactly what heâ€s doing. Hey, look, heâ€s brought us this far. As hot as we are, heâ€s a big part of it. We just got to trust the process,†Moose said. “And Iâ€m sure everybodyâ€s going to be excited to go to Orlando. I know I am because when I started with TNA, we was actually called TNA when I started. This was in 2016 and we was in Orlando. Itâ€s always great coming back home; Iâ€m looking forward to it.â€
When asked if he could share the reason for TNA taking four weeks off, Moose joked that he normally gets in trouble for sharing too much information. He said Silva would be the best person to ask. However, he teased that the reason for the hiatus makes sense, and fans just need to trust the team leading TNA.
“The only thing I can tell you is it makes sense and you just have to trust Carlos and trust the team. Itâ€s all going to be okay,†Moose said. “Weâ€re going to go into Orlando and itâ€s going to be hot. Iâ€m sure fans miss us, so itâ€s going to make the show even better.â€
Open Fight Night is coming back
Before TNA returns to live television on November 14, the promotion will present an “Open Fight Night†special on November 7. The Fight Night concept returns for the first time since 2017, around the time Moose first signed with TNA. He shared his excitement about seeing the show, which we now know will feature a challenge from his System stablemates, Brian Myers and Eddie Edwards.
Moose has accomplished quite a bit during his TNA tenure, but still has plenty more he wants to do. Moose wants to break the record for most world title reigns. He also teased going after some other championships that heâ€s never competed for.
“Thereâ€s nobody on the [current] roster thatâ€s won more than three world championships. I want to be the guy that wins four. I have three under my belt right now; I want to win four, I want to win five, I want to win six,†Moose said, noting that heâ€d love to break Kurt Angleâ€s record of six TNA world title reigns. “So thatâ€s an accomplishment Iâ€ve never done. Iâ€ve never won tag titles. Thatâ€s another one. I donâ€t even think Iâ€ve ever wrestled for the tag titles. We have a new International Championship. Iâ€ve never won it. So yeah, thereâ€s still things for a guy whoâ€s been in TNA for almost ten years that I have on my bucket list I would love to accomplish.â€
