Mohammed Siraj is an Indian fast bowler who represents the India national cricket team. He was born on 13 March 1994 in Hyderabad, Telangana, into a Hyderabadi Muslim family. Siraj began bowling with a tennis ball at the age of 16 and started playing club cricket at 19. In his first match, he took 9 wickets for his uncleâ€s team in a Hyderabad Cricket Association game.
Siraj made his first-class debut for Hyderabad on 15 November 2015 in the Ranji Trophy and his T20 debut on 2 January 2016 in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. He became the highest wicket-taker for Hyderabad in the 2016–17 Ranji Trophy, taking 41 wickets at an average of 18.92. In the 2017–18 Vijay Hazare Trophy, Siraj led the wickets chart with 23 dismissals in seven matches. He later represented India A and India B in the 2018–19 and 2019–20 Deodhar Trophy tournaments.
Siraj plays for the Gujarat Titans in the Indian Premier League and represents Hyderabad in domestic cricket. He was part of Indiaâ€s squad that won the 2023 Asia Cup, where he was named Player of the Match in the final, and he also played a key role in Indiaâ€s 2024 T20 World Cup victory.
