Maxwell Jacob Friedman showed up unannounced at MLW Fightland and came face-to-face with his former Dynasty stablemate, Alex Hammerstone, in a segment loaded with unresolved tension.
MJF didn’t waste time reminding Hammerstone of their past, saying that six years ago the Dynasty was “on top of pro wrestling”—but now, while he’s still on top, Hammerstone has become “a court jester.” MJF told Hammerstone he’s “the best big man in pro wrestling,” but walks around like someone who forgot who he is. He added that he saw “the hatred” in Hammerstone’s eyes and said that’s the version of him the wrestling world needs.
Hammerstone, didn’t push back. Instead, he opened up about his own insecurities and self-doubt. Addressing the talk of a Dynasty reunion, Hammerstone shut it down quickly: “The Dynasty is over.” He continued, “What if my best days are behind me?” and confessed he “hates that feeling,” suggesting that maybe it’s time he “fully hates pro wrestling.”
But the segment didn’t end in bitterness. Hammerstone seemed to find some clarity, looking MJF in the eye and saying, “You’re right—my best days are in front of me.” The two shared a quiet toast, leaving their relationship status uncertain.
MJF also made headlines earlier this year when he ambushed Mistico at MLW Summer of the Beasts, proving once again that he doesn’t mind stirring things up in any promotion he touches.
