MI Retention List IPL 2026: The five-time IPL champions, Mumbai Indians, have arguably the most star-studded squad in the IPL. After making it to the playoffs last year, they had a stacked retention list for IPL 2026.

The deadline for retention for IPL 2026 was today. We now take a look at the base structure for each team, with which they will enter the auction next month. Here, we will look at MI and the players they have retained from their last seasonâ€s squad.

The Indians have made a lot of trades ahead of the retention deadline, looking to spruce up their squad before even entering the auction. They traded away pacer Arjun Tendulkar for Rs. 30 lakh and brought in veteran Shardul Thakur for Rs. 2 crore. They also got Sherfane Rutherford from the Gujarat Titans and Mayank Markande from the Kolkata Knight Riders for Rs. 2.6 crore and 30 lakh, respectively.

They retained a lot of players from their squad from last season, which makes sense, seeing that they have some of the best and most promising limited-overs players in the world.

Letâ€s start with their strong Indian core. Mumbai Indians retained all the players they did last season, those being captain Hardik Pandya, Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav, Tilak Varma, and Jasprit Bumrah. All five of these players are regulars of the Indian Cricket Team in one format or another.

Robin Minz and Raj Bawa are promising Indian players who were also retained. Another youngster retained was all-rounder Naman Dhir, who showed his potential last year.

Also wearing the MI blue next season are overseas all-rounders Will Jacks and Mitchell Santner. Jacks, along with Ryan Rickelton, did not play out the full season last year but were still retained due to their T20 prowess.

Spinners Mujeeb Ur Rahman and Karn Sharma were released. It looks like Mumbai will be looking for a fresh spin core.

Finally, we come to pacers, and MI retained most of them. Here is the list: Trent Boult, Ashwani Kumar, Corbin Bosch, and Deepak Chahar, along with the formerly mentioned Jasprit Bumrah.
