The Hardy Boyz couldnâ€t hold onto the gold at WWE NXT Halloween Havoc 2025, but Matt Hardy made it clear their story is far from finished. After he and Jeff Hardy lost the NXT Tag Team Championships to DarkState in a brutal Broken Rules Match, Matt took to social media to share an emotional message with fans.
In his post on Twitter/X, Matt thanked the Arizona crowd for their support and expressed gratitude to everyone whoâ€s stood by the Hardys during their NXT run. He also reflected on the chaotic match and the relentless nature of their opponents.
“Thank you for having our back tonight at @WWENXT #HalloweenHavoc, Arizona! You guys & gals were WONDERFUL! Weâ€re so sorry we werenâ€t able to retain the #WWENXT Tag Titles. The State of Dark swarm was relentless & never-ending tonight.â€
Even in defeat, Matt made it clear that this is only another chapter in their story. He promised that he and Jeff still have plenty left to accomplish together—and also took a heartfelt moment to honor the late Bray Wyatt, real name Windham Rotunda.
“Our journey is nowhere near over, myself & Brother Nero have SO much left to do. Very happy we could pay homage to Bray tonight – We love you & miss you, Windham.â€
Matt and Jeff Hardy may have lost the NXT Tag Team Titles, but they left it all in the ring—and fans felt every moment of it. From paying tribute to Bray Wyatt to crashing through tables like only they can, the Hardys proved theyâ€re still built for big-match chaos. DarkState mightâ€ve walked out with the gold, but the Hardys walked out with the crowdâ€s respect—and theyâ€re not going quietly.
