The WWE Universe has welcomed The New Day with open arms, even in their new heel era. Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston have both secured their legacies as singles and tag team competitors, and now a major update on Woods’ status is being celebrated by many in the industry.
Mr. Steal Ya Girl recently celebrated his 15th year as a WWE Superstar. Woods and Kofi Kingston turned heel almost one year ago, ejecting Big E from The New Day while celebrating their 10th anniversary. Woods and Kingston then entered into a new chapter of their career, which has brought several surprising moments, including the current alliance with Grayson Waller.
The New Day has feuded with The War Raiders and Penta as of late. After losing to the trio during RAW on September 1, the babyfaces won the rematch on last week’s RAW, held under No Disqualification rules.
Woods is another WWE Superstar just revealed to be in a contract year with the company. Fightful Select adds that the 39-year-old has signed a multi-year contract extension.
Xavier Woods Inks New WWE Contract
Xavier Woods had talks with WWE officials that came down to the wire as his deal was to expire last month, September 2025. Fightful Select reports that the deal was finalized just last month after a negotiation period.
Kofi Kingston remains under contract as well, but there’s no word yet on his contract status. WWE signed all three New Day members to matching deals in 2019, but different injuries for all three Superstars likely led to time being added, but that was not confirmed.
Woods joins Bronson Reed as top RAW Superstars that have reached new deals with WWE as of late. Several talents have opted to part ways with thee company, including Jazmyn Nyx, Santos Escobar, and Karrion Kross.
