
BALTIMORE – After clinching a Patriot League Tournament berth last Saturday, Lehigh volleyball competed in its regular season finale against Loyola. The Mountain Hawks fell to the Greyhounds in three sets.
Both squads came out hot in the first set. The two teams went back and forth for the first 19 scores of the set until Loyola went on a 5-0 run to take a 15-9 lead. The Mountain Hawks fought their way back to get behind one late in the set, but ultimately fell 25-21.Â
Set two was a defensive battle, as both teams hit match-lows during the set.The Greyhounds swung .108 while the Mountain Hawks were limited to a .079 hitting percentage. Each team also had a match-low amount of kills, as Lehigh were limited to just nine, and Loyola managed 12.Â
The Mountain Hawks got off to a quick 5-1 lead in set three, but after tying it up 11-11, the Greyhounds never looked back, winning the third and final set 25-21.
Senior Natalie Luscomb led the Mountain Hawks offensively with eight kills. She also contributed with three block assists, which was second behind junior Olivia Lasee’s four. Junior Abby Felkai posted a team high in both assists and digs, totaling 11 for both.Â
Ava Nepkin and Riley Hamilton were the offensive leaders for Loyola with 11 and nine kills respectively.Â
The Mountain Hawks compete next in the Patriot League Tournament as the No. 6 seed. They face off against three seed Army West Point on Tuesday, November 18 at West Point, N.Y. at 6 p.m.
