The Troy Girls took the first set in NTL Large School Volleyball action against Wellsboro Tuesday evening before the Lady Hornets came storming back to win the match 3-1.
Troy won the first set 25-20 but then Wellsboro edged them out 25-22 to even the score, then won 25-18 in the third set, and again pulled out a two-point, 25-23, win in the fourth set to secure the win.
Sophomore Jillian Mickey scored 10 points (4 aces) to lead Wellsboro on the evening while junior Blake Eckart scored 9 points to go along with 19 digs and 7 kills, and senior Taylor Main had 6 points (1 ace), 18 assists, and 15 digs.
Sophomore Adelyn Frantz had 9 kills and 5 blocks, sophomore Kendall Sweet recorded 9 kills and 2 blocks, and sophomore Peyton Keane made 7 kills. Junior Ellie Largey finished with 10 assists and junior Madison Cruttenden had 21 digs.
Wellsboro swept the JV game winning 25-25 and 25-13.
Wellsboro improves to 6-2 overall and 5-1 in the NTL Large School Division. The team hosts Hughesville in non-league action this evening.
