Wellsboro won their third straight game against rival North Penn-Liberty with a 3-2 win on Tuesday.
The Lady Hornets won the first two sets, 26-24 and 25-20 before the Lady Mounties took the next two, 25-15 and 25-22 to force a fifth and final set, which Wellsboro took, 15-11.
Wellsboro also swept Liberty in the JV game, winning 26-24 and 25-20.
Sophomore Peyton Keane led the Lady Hornets with 12 kills, 10 points and 2 aces while sophomore Kendall Sweet scored 11 points with 3 aces. Junior Blake Eckart had 8 kills, 24 digs and a block, sophomore Madalynn Flannery scored 8 points and had an ace, and sophomore Adelyn Frantz had 4 kills and 2 blocks.
Junior Ellie Largey made 20 assists, senior Taylor Main made 4 assists, junior Madison Cruttenden registered 21 digs, and sophomore Jillian Mickey had 20 digs.
Wellsboro improves to 4-1 overall and 3-1 in the NTL Large School Division. The team is back in action Thursday night against Athens.
