2025 MIAC VOLLEYBALL ATHLETES OF THE WEEK
MINNEAPOLIS — Augsburg University volleyball setter Jovial King (JR, Caledonia, Minn./Caledonia HS) was named Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Volleyball Athlete of the Week as a Specialist, it was announced on Tuesday.
King collected 109 assists (9.08 per-set), 45 digs (3.75 per-set) and 7 blocks (one solo), with two assist-dig double-doubles, in three matches for Augsburg at the St. Norbert (Wis.) Invitational over the weekend. She claimed her first career 20-20 double-double in Friday’s opener, with 25 assists and 22 digs in the Auggies’ three-set loss to St. Norbert (Wis.). She then set career highs of 40 assists and five blocks (one solo), adding seven digs, in Augsburg’s five-set loss to Gallaudet (D.C.). On Saturday, she set another career high with 44 assists, adding 16 digs and two blocks (one solo), in the Auggies’ four-set loss to Lawrence (Wis.).
King’s 109 assists were most among MIAC players over the weekend, with her 9.08 assists per-set second-most.
Augsburg hosts Bethany Lutheran College in a nonconference matchup on Wednesday (9/3) at 7 p.m. at Si Melby Hall.
