MINNEAPOLIS – Augsburg University setter Jovial King (JR, Caledonia, Minn./Caledonia HS) was named to the All-Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference volleyball team, as the 2025 conference volleyball awards were announced on Wednesday. It’s the first conference postseason honor for King.
Playing in all 30 matches and in 109 of 111 sets this season, King made an impact throughout the rotation for the Auggies, claiming 990 assists (9.08 per-set) with 327 digs (3.00 per-set), 64 blocks (four solo, 0.59 per-set), 93 kills (0.85 per-set) and 34 service aces (0.31 per-set). Her 990 assists were second-most among MIAC setters, with her 9.08 assists per-set average third-best.
This season, she had 20 matches with 30 or more assists, and 15 assist-dig double-doubles, giving her 21 double-doubles in her Augsburg career.
King has played in 85 matches (298 sets) in her Augsburg career, with 1,819 assists (6.10 per-set), currently ninth-most in school history, with her 6.10 per-set average also ninth-best. She has 616 career digs (2.07 per-set), 88 blocks (seven solo, 0.30 per-set), 69 service aces (0.23 per-set) and 144 kills (0.48 per-set).
Under first-year head coach Jay Kam, Augsburg finished the 2025Â campaign with an overall record of 11-19, holding a 5-6 record in conference play. The Auggies reached the MIAC postseason playoffs for the seventh time in the last nine full seasons, and the 11th time since the conference went to a six-team postseason playoff in the 2001 season.
