John Cena has locked horns with the best of the best at WWE’s grandest spectacle, WrestleMania.
However, there was one man who was regarded as unworthy when he first stepped inside the squared circle with Cena. In the end, not only did he rise to the occasion and headline The Show of Shows opposite The Last Real Champion, but he even won the battle.
And now, the man in question wants another showdown to bookend their WWE rivalry. He is one of the most decorated names in pro wrestling history, The Miz.
John Cena’s Former WWE WrestleMania Opponent Campaigns For Rematch Ahead Of The Last Time Is Now Tournament
In 2009, The Miz became his own man on WWE TV after his tag team run with John Morrison.
One of The A-Lister’s earliest rivalries as a singles competitor was against John Cena, who easily brushed aside the challenge. However, two years later, Cena was challenging The Miz for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 27. The A-Lister walked out of the show with the victory.
On X/Twitter, the 45-year-old reflected on his epic battles with The Never-Seen 17, who will retire from in-ring competition in December. The Miz wants to step inside the squared circle one last time with arguably the most important rival of his career.
My first match w/ John Cena lasted 6 minutes. I was told I wasnâ€t ready. So I made a promise—never again. Two years later, I main-evented WrestleMania and beat him. Hard work > hype. #MizVsCena,” The A-Lister wrote on X.

The Last Time Is Now Tournament is set to commence on Monday Night RAW this week, with The Miz vs. Jey Uso announced. If The A-Lister prevails, he will have to outlast 14 other competitors en route to the potential collision course with John Cena at Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 13 at the Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C.
