John Cena has high praise for Dominik Mysterio.
Speaking on Raw Recap, John Cena addressed his final WWE RAW appearance in Madison Square Garden. When the conversation steered towards his Intercontinental Championship win, Cena said he was grateful for the opportunity and put over former champion Dominik Mysterio.
Cena said that Dominik Mysterio reminds him a lot of himself, especially about the mistakes he made in his career.
“Incredibly grateful for the ability to get in there with Dom Mysterio,†John Cena said, “who I respect and admire. He reminds me a lot of me, and he reminds me of lot of the mistakes I made, like I can see all of the mistakes that are about to happen with him, and I want to shake him and be like, ‘Youâ€re gonna do this.†But I want him to learn for himself.
“He is authentic, he is reliable, he works hard, and he has passion about the business. Heâ€ll learn, heâ€ll figure the rest out. But what a chance in Boston to have a chance at a championship match, and because itâ€s not what Stone Cold would do. Like, yeah, Iâ€d like that match. It can be done your own way, thereâ€s no right way to be a success in this business. Itâ€s just take opportunities as they come, and I got a cool opportunity to do something special and, man, it was a special moment.
John Cena and Dominik Mysterio will share the ring once again as they are set to collide in an Intercontinental Championship match at Survivor Series: WarGames.
