John Cenaâ€s final WWE opponent is about to be decided—and heâ€s making it personal.
WWE dropped the big news on the November 1st episode of Saturday Nightâ€s Main Event: a special tournament kicks off next Monday in Boston to determine who will face Cena in his final match. The tournament, called The Last Time is Now, is pulling talent from RAW, SmackDown, NXT, and even possibly beyond WWE.
Cena took to Twitter to speak directly to his fans, reflecting on his 20-year run in the company and explaining why this tournament means something deeper to him.
“For over two decades, I have tried to make the most of every opportunity Iâ€ve been presented. On December 13th, Iâ€d like to repay the favor. The Last Time is Now Tournament begins next Monday in Boston!â€
The tournament will lead to a showdown on December 13, 2025, at Saturday Nightâ€s Main Event in Washington, D.C., inside the Capital One Arena. Whoever survives the bracket will stand across the ring from Cena in whatâ€s expected to be his final WWE match ever.
Thereâ€s already backstage chatter that WWE might give Cena one last championship run before calling it quits, but nothingâ€s locked in. What is certain, though, is that this tournament has officially started the countdown on a Hall of Fame career.
Fans are now left to speculate who will step up, who will shock the world, and who will close the curtain on Cenaâ€s legendary run.
If you had the book, who would you pick to face Cena in his final match—and why? Drop your thoughts in the comments.
