John Cena has been on the receiving end of plenty of scrutiny surrounding his past comments regarding Vince McMahon, following the lawsuit brought against him and WWE.
WWE Superstar John Cena was a recent guest on the Joe Rogan Experience. When the subject of Vince McMahon came up, Cena took a moment to reflect on his past comments and noted that his feelings for McMahon shouldnâ€t exonerate him from being accountable for his actions.
Rogan: Is he (Vince) still involved, is he in, is he out?
Cena: Heâ€s out.
Rogan: It seems like heâ€s a guy that will be out for a little while, and then something will happen, and theyâ€ll bring him back in.
Cena: Nah. Well, I donâ€t know, all that stuff is so above me, but I know, now, heâ€s out. In my eyes, I would like to think that time heals everything, and I believe in forgiveness. I also believe in looking at the body of work, but I also know thereâ€s a lot of fragile stuff going on there. I donâ€t know, man, I donâ€t know.
Rogan: Itâ€s a hot subject (laughs), it will get into another Chinese-Taipei incident (referring to Cenaâ€s issue naming Taiwan as a country).
Cena: (Laughing) Iâ€ve learned to become more accountable for what I say. Just because of how I feel about a certain person doesnâ€t exonerate them from being accountable for their actions. Just because he started “all this gangster shit,†that doesnâ€t mean he doesnâ€t need to be accountable for his actions. So, letâ€s figure out what that means and then figure out if we can move forward and bring that back into the fold or stay the way it is. [H/T: POST Wrestling]
