WrestleMania 43 will be taking place in Saudi Arabia in 2027 but a lot of people are happy about this move. Despite all the backlash, many are in support of the move and that includes JBL, who believes WrestleMania 43 could be the greatest WrestleMania of all time.

While speaking on Something to Wrestle, JBL talked about the backlash over WrestleMania 43 taking place in Saudi Arabia. He said many fans were upset that the show wouldn’t be in the United States and reacted with boos, chants of “you sold out,” and negative comments online.

Believes that most of the criticism comes from Saudi Arabia’s involvement but feels it’s misguided. JBL explained that no country, including the U.S., is free of issues, so refusing to do business with certain nations doesn’t make sense.

While he understands people want to share their opinions, JBL disagrees with the idea that WWE’s decision is wrong and believes it’s smart for business and entertainment.

“People had some really, really strong opinions and not all of them were good. A lot of fans were taking it personally that WrestleMania is not going to be here in America or that it’s going across the pond. And well, allegedly I wasn’t there, but fans were sort of booing this and chanting ‘you sold out’ and even typing it in the group chat on YouTube, and I saw a lot of thumbs down.

I say motives, I know why they’re doing it. Obviously, they’re doing it because of the Saudi Arabia news. I don’t know if it’s a selfish motive like, ‘Hey, I just want to be heard. I’m a spoiled brat,’ or if I really believe this and that’s my voice speaking out. So, I don’t know where they’re coming from. I think it’s misguided.

I don’t think, obviously, we’re not the moral police and you say, ‘Well, you can’t do business with this country because of this, this, this.’ You can list that for pretty much any country, including ours, pretty easily. And so I get people want to have their voice heard. I 100% do not agree with that dissent at all. If you’re the moral police, you might not want to do business with us either. I think there’s reasons to do things and I think what WWE is doing is good.”

JBL also predicted that as WrestleMania gets closer, the anger will die down. He said that once the event starts, fans will forget about the complaints and focus on the action. In fact, he believes WrestleMania 43 will be the greatest WrestleMania ever, thanks to the scale of the show and the historic moment of it being the first one held in Saudi Arabia.

“I really believe that when you get about a day or two from it, all of this ‘you sold out’ stuff is going to die and the hype of the event is going to take over and people are just going to sit there and want to watch it. And when they’re watching it, you’re not going to hear a word of it.

And I think the show is going to be that good that this could be the greatest WrestleMania in history because of what they’re going to do being the first one in Saudi Arabia.”

WWE was paid $250,000 by Saudi Arabia to hold WrestleMania 43 there in 2027, so it’s clearly a business decision and the company will do what’s best for business. Nonetheless, it remains to be seen whether WrestleMania 43 will turn out to be the greatest WrestleMania in history, as anything could happen in the world of professional wrestling.
