Jazmyn Nyx may have walked away from WWE over money, but sheâ€s not slamming the door on a comeback.
The former NXT star, who was recently kicked out of Fatal Influence and written off television, used Snapchat to answer fan questions about her future—and opened up about how WWEâ€s lowball offer left her uncertain about her career path.
A fan asked Nyx if she felt the company saw her more as a valet or manager rather than a top in-ring talent. Nyx responded by saying she had been regularly featured in main-event matches and heavily involved every week on television.
“I was wrestling a lot the past couple months and a lot on main event matches so no I didnâ€t feel as if I was a manager/valet. I was still involved and booked every Tuesday so I was getting a lot of great opportunities that I am very grateful [for].â€
She went on to admit that the offer she received created doubt about what WWE really had planned for her, even though she was willing to work to reach the next level.
“Iâ€m not sure what the future looked like for me and I was definitely willing to work hard to get there but I felt that there could of been uncertainty there for sure in terms of what they had planned for me in the future because of [the] offer.â€
This adds new context to Nyxâ€s earlier comments about her WWE departure. While her initial exit stemmed from a reported $75,000 per year contract offer, her latest remarks show that it wasnâ€t just the money—it was also about the lack of clarity over her role and future in the company.
Still, Nyx made it clear in another Snapchat reply that she hasnâ€t sworn off wrestling, saying she would return to WWE if offered a better deal and is open to other opportunities as well.
Jazmyn Nyxâ€s story explains how tough reality for some NXT stars who donâ€t get the pay or certainty they expect despite being featured regularly on TV. For Nyx, the door isnâ€t shut, but the terms have to change.
