Indie wrestler LJ Cleary will be on the sidelines for the remainder of the year.
Cleary sent out a message today announcing that, because of an injury he recently suffered, he will not be able to wrestle for the rest of 2025. He thanked fans for their support and said he can’t wait to see everyone again in 2026. This is the first time he’s ever suffered an injury that has required him to take time off.
“A bit of unfortunate news, recently picked up an injury that will mean I’m out for the remainder of 2025,” Cleary wrote. “I’ve been wrestling for 12 years now and have never had to take time off due to an injury, can at least confirm what I’m dealing with could’ve been much worse!
“If you know me, you know the idea of time off and not being busy will kill me. However I’ve had a fantastic year up till now, a genuinely unforgettable one, and I haven’t had more than one weekend off since mid 2021! Wrestling is full of ups and downs, and this is just a small down in a life I’m extremely grateful for.”
Cleary did not provide any specifics on the injury he suffered.
Originally from Ireland, Cleary is now based in the United States. He’s wrestled across the world in his career, including spending time in Japan with Pro Wrestling NOAH.
Cleary is engaged to WWE star Lyra Valkyria and made an appearance in the crowd earlier this year when Valkyria faced off against Becky Lynch at Backlash. He participated in a tryout for WWE this summer.
