HOOK made his return on the August 27th edition of AEW Dynamite and he came out with a brand new entrance theme. Following his epic return, we now know who chose the song in the first place.
Fightful Select reports that HOOK’s new entrance song is “So Tell The Girls I’m Back In Town” by Jay Jay Johanson. It was further added that the new song was personally chosen by HOOK.
“Hook’s new theme is “So Tell The Girls I’m Back In Town” by Jay Jay Johanson. We’re told that it was a selection by Hook directly.”
As reported earlier, the decision to change HOOK’s entrance theme was made after AEW decided to move on from HOOK’s old theme song by Action Bronson. It stemmed from Bronson taking shots at AEW’s environment last year, and while things were eventually smoothed out, AEW went with the change in the end.
In the meantime, HOOK signed a long-term deal with AEW and so he’ll be sticking with the company for the foreseeable future. Since he came back and choked out Wheeler Yuta, it’s clear he’s out for revenge on the Death Riders after they took him out.
Hook’s new theme song is a strong way to change things up and renew his feud with the Death Riders. By choosing the track himself, he’s showing that he wants control over how fans see him and so we’ll have to see how AEW will book him in the coming weeks.
Do you think HOOK made the right call in switching from Action Bronson to Jay Jay Johanson for his entrance music? Sound off in the comments.
