A wild childhood memory shared by Erica Nicole Clark—comedian and daughter of WWE Hall of Famer Mr. T—has gone viral, however there’s no evidence the story actually happened.

The original clip, shared by Don’t Tell Comedy, features Clark recalling a chaotic weekend surrounding WrestleMania I in 1985. According to her, her father Mr. T suffered a legit injury in the main event tag team match while teaming with Hulk Hogan against Roddy Piper and Paul Orndorff. She claimed that Piper “flipped” Mr. T and “cracked [his] ribs,” sending him to the emergency room.

Clark then said things escalated later at the hotel when Hogan, still in his yellow wrestling gear and allegedly “doing like lines of cocaine” in front of her family, lost his temper after hearing about Piper’s apology. “Hulk Hogan’s like, ‘fuck that,’ and grabs Roddy Piper, and brings him into the hotel room, throws him against the wall, smashes the mirror,” she claimed.

The story gained traction quickly online, but on the September 2 episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Bryan Alvarez asked Dave Meltzer if there was “even a skeleton of this story” that could be verified.

Meltzer’s response was immediate: “No.” He explained: “Piper’s written books — he’s talked about it over and over and over again. Hogan has talked about things over and over and over again… The few physical confrontations Hogan had are super, super, super well known. Like, if something like this happened, everyone would know.”

Meltzer pointed to the infamous Hulk Hogan–David Schultz confrontation as a reference, explaining that incidents of that scale never stay hidden. “So the idea that there’s some fight where he’s throwing Piper all over a hotel room in 1985? They’re not keeping a lid on that, I don’t think.”

He did acknowledge one part of the story that checks out: Mr. T’s hesitation about working with Piper is a documented issue. “I know he nearly backed out of the match. That’s a well-known story.”

He also made it clear that he wasn’t trying to discredit Clark as a witness. “I mean, she was in the room — I wasn’t in the room. I can’t say it didn’t happen. But I’ve never heard it.” Meltzer wrapped up his take by saying: “She might believe it… but it doesn’t hold up.”

Mr. T’s involvement in WrestleMania I was a key part of WWE’s crossover into mainstream pop culture in the mid-1980s. Coming off Rocky III and The A-Team, he was seen by the public as more legit than many of the wrestlers he worked with—something that Meltzer says caused tension behind the scenes.

As for Clark, she ended her viral comedy bit by describing how nobody at her school believed her wild weekends with Mr. T. After witnessing that level of chaos, she recalled sitting in class on Monday during sharing time and saying, “Not a fucking thing.”
