Bangladesh vs West Indies:Shai Hope and Alick Athanaze combined restraint with authority as West Indies secured a 14-run victory over Bangladesh in Chattogram, sealing the T20I series 2–0 with one match to spare.
Asked to bat, the tourists overcame an early setback when Brandon King fell in the second over. Hope and Athanaze then added 105 for the second wicket, the innings†decisive partnership. Both reached half-centuries, Hope with his familiar calm and Athanaze with a livelier aggression, twice lofting Rishad Hossain over the rope.
From 106 for one, though, the West Indies collapsed to 118 for six as Nasum Ahmed struck twice in successive balls and Mustafizur Rahman applied pressure at the death. Their innings closed on 149 for nine, a total that looked modest yet proved sufficient.
Bangladesh began carefully, and Tanzid Hasanâ€s 61 offered substance, but the innings never quite found its rhythm. Catches went down, momentum ebbed, and Akeal Hosein and Romario Shepherd shared six wickets between them. When Tanzid and Jaker Ali fell in the 18th over, the chase unravelled, leaving 21 needed from the last, far beyond reach.
For the West Indies, the result was less emphatic than efficient: a series secured through composure at key moments, and the assurance of Hope, whose presence continues to steady their most uncertain format.
