WWE is entering a crucial phase as the year draws to a close, but a top storyline is expected to continue.
They have been battling in recent months, and at times, the situation between Cody Rhodes and Drew McIntyre has gotten way too heated.
On the most recent SmackDown episode, The American Nightmare ambushed the Scottish star in the parking lot and urged Nick Aldis to lift Drew’s suspension so that he could squash him like a cockroach. Well, he might soon get the chance to back up his words in the ring.
WWE Reportedly Has Planned Another Match Between Drew McIntyre And Cody Rhodes
In an update via BodySlam’s Patreon, WWE sources have indicated that the SmackDown feud will go on for longer, with one more match scheduled to take place “very soon.”
Their last outing was initially seen as a ‘definitive chapter’, but the company has more in store for one of the most volatile angles of the year.
As far as details about the planned match are concerned, people backstage have remained tight-lipped but noted that Cody Rhodes and Drew McIntyre’s next confrontation will have massive implications on their story and the immediate futures of the top stars.

Cody Rhodes and Drew McIntyre have been going at it for weeks, with their Wrestlepalooza match ending with the Undisputed WWE Champion retaining his title. They had another singles showdown at the November 1 SNME show, with Cody once again getting the better of his rival.
The storyline was also used to briefly write Cody off TV for his Street Fighter commitments before their issues bled over into the Survivor Series: WarGames narrative, with both men participating in the match.
Their next in-ring meeting could be the last for a while, and whether it happens at a PLE or another WWE special will be worth noting.
