Former WWE star Tyrus recently revealed a funny coincidence from his childhood: he went to a school that shared the same name as WWE legend Bret Hart. Well, sort of.
During an episode of his Planet Tyrus podcast, Tyrus also known as Brodus Clay, spoke with WWE Hall of Famer and Knox County Mayor Glenn Jacobs, also known as Kane. While they discussed education, trade schools, and having backup plans in life, Tyrus mentioned that he attended Bret Harte Elementary School in Burbank, California.
“Well, â€cause you know, itâ€s weird, and I donâ€t, when I was a kid in California, I was in the magnet school program. So, I took a test, and I qualified, and I went to a school that was more specific to a certain thing. I tested really high in science, so I went to, ironically, Bret Harte Elementary School in Burbank, California.â€
The former WWE star added that the school offered zoology classes alongside regular subjects and that he had to take a three-hour bus ride each day to attend. “Yeah. There were no sharpshooters there. But, I always laugh at the name. But it was a science school, so I was in zoology classes on top of a regular curriculum, but I had to take a three-hour bus ride.â€
While the spelling should give it away, Bret Harte Elementary was named after the American author, not the Canadian wrestler. Harte, born Francis Brett Harte, was known for his stories that focused on the American West and the California Gold Rush. Tyrusâ€s school in Burbank is one of several schools in the country that were named after him.
