David Otunga is grieving the devastating loss of his cousin and lifelong best friend Bryan.
The former WWE star took to Instagram on November 5, 2025, with a heartfelt message expressing the pain and love tied to his closest companion.
Otunga opened his post with raw honesty, writing, “Yesterday, I lost my cousin and best friend Bryan. Iâ€m overwhelmed right now trying to find words to say that I never thought I would ever have to say. How do I find words worthy enough to encapsulate our bond?â€
Bryan was more than family—he was Otungaâ€s constant. He traveled the road with him during WWE tours, not just as an assistant, but as his emotional anchor.
“Bryan was with me from the beginning. I took him with me on the road and gave him a job as my assistant. Really, I just wanted my best friend with me while I was on the road.â€
Otunga shared that Bryan stood beside him through every success and failure. He praised his cousinâ€s unwavering loyalty, kindness, and selflessness.
“Nobody ever had my back like Bryan. Nobody could tell him anything negative about David Otunga. Just as loyal as he was, he was also extremely kind and generous. I saw him literally give someone the shirt off his back before.â€
Bryanâ€s support helped Otunga through his darkest moments, and now, heâ€s struggling to fill the void left behind.
“I have a hole in my heart that will never be filled, without him. The only thing getting me through right now is that I know I have gained another guardian angel and I know he will be with me always.â€
He concluded the tribute by sharing a post Bryan had once made, thanking Otunga for buying his book—a small moment that now carries deep meaning.
“Bryan would always hype me up and thank me for changing his life, but I never got the chance to thank him for changing mine too. I love you Cuz. Rest in Heaven Lil Bryan ðŸðŸ½â¤ï¸â€
Otungaâ€s loss is felt not just by him, but by those who followed his journey through WWE and beyond.
