    Fingall And Bond Earn Patriot League Weekly Honors

    BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Junior Alysia Fingall and sophomore Sophia Bond earned Patriot League weekly awards, the league announced on Tuesday afternoon. Fingall was named the Patriot League Player of the Week while Bond was selected as the Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week.

    The pair earns distinction from the league after a 2-1 showing at James Madison’s LD&B Insurance Invitational this past weekend where both were named to the All-Tournament team. Bond is Lehigh’s first-ever Defensive Player of the Week selection while Fingall becomes Lehigh’s first Player of the Week honoree since 2022.

    Fingall was dominant offensively for the Mountain Hawks, recording a team-high 39 kills (3.25 kills per set) on an efficient .301 hitting percentage. The junior added five total blocks, three assists and two service aces. Fingall registered double-digit kills in all three matches, highlighted by 14 kills and a .455 hitting percentage in Lehigh’s sweep of Bellarmine. She currently leads the Mountain Hawks with 71 kills and 81.5 points.

    Bond was a stalwart as Lehigh’s primary libero, tallying 63 digs with an impressive 5.25 digs per set across the team’s three matches. The Olathe, Kansas native also added 18 assists and five service aces on the weekend. Bond reached a career-high 26 digs against with six assists against Princeton, had 16 digs and seven assists against Bellarmine and finished up the weekend with 21 digs and five assists in Lehigh’s win over James Madison.

    Lehigh will host its Steel Classic tournament Friday-Saturday inside Leeman-Turner Arena at Grace Hall. The Mountain Hawks will host Sacred Heart Friday at noon, NJIT Friday at 6:30 p.m. and Valparaiso Saturday at 1:30 p.m.
