Lacey Lane — formerly known as Kayden Carter in WWE — didn’t land directly in AEW after her exit, but she’s definitely circling the ring.

Lane made an appearance at the Ring of Honor TV tapings ahead of AEW Dynamite at the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia. While AEW was her top choice coming out of WWE, it looks like ROH — under Tony Khan’s ownership — was her first official stop. The match is expected to air on an upcoming episode of ROH TV.

Lane wrestled in WWE from 2018 to 2025, where she was best known for teaming with Katana Chance (Kacy Catanzaro). Together, they captured both the NXT Women’s Tag Team Titles and the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles, battling through a run that Lane described as constantly fighting uphill.

She recently opened up on Busted Open Radio about what’s next for her, making it clear AEW was the goal.

“Okay, so I know people will probably look down at me for saying this but I could give a sht because whatever, I wanna work.”*

Lane said AEW’s women’s division is exactly her speed.

“I think AEW is my speed, because, you know, those girls can fcking go. I love the way that they work. They don’t bring the bulls*t. They bring the fists and you know me, I’m a girl that’s down to fight. I love that.”

She also noted the emotional connection to the AEW/ROH ecosystem thanks to her past mentors in Mexico:

“I’ve worked with a lot of people from Mexico there… My mentor’s there. A lot of people who would bring great support system to me I feel like, versus where I feel like I didn’t have much.”

Lane didn’t rule out TNA either, giving props to the Knockouts division:

“Even TNA, I would go there because some of the girls there, I know that bust their ass and they’re trying to put the division on notice as well and I’m for it. I just wanna be a part of a legacy.”

Her last WWE match was the April 11 episode of SmackDown, competing in a Women’s Tag Team Title contender gauntlet. Now, with her return to the ring officially underway under the ROH banner, Lacey Lane is back — and closer than ever to that AEW spotlight she’s been chasing.

Do you think Lacey Lane will break through in ROH and earn a spot on the AEW roster? Or should she take her talents to TNA’s Knockouts division instead? Drop your thoughts in the comments and let us know.
