Drew McIntyre revealed a backstage conversation with a legendary WWE star after a massive Royal Rumble botch.
The Scottish Warrior is a behemoth in the ring and uses a very physical move in the Claymore Kick as his finisher. With wrestling, injuries are hardly ever predictable, and it’s a given that Claymore may have caught multiple superstars the wrong way once or twice in their careers. McIntyre makes no bones about loving to hurt people and has stated that he doesn’t care about hurting most of the people from his moves. However, McIntyre really lamented hurting one legendary star and had a backstage conversation with him.
Drew McIntyre Reveals Backstage Conversation With WWE Legend Samoa Joe
Samoa Joe was with WWE for seven years from 2015 to 2022 and was one of the most revered stars in the locker room. The star won two United States Titles and three NXT Titles during his stint.
During a recent conversation on The Rich Eisen Show, Drew McIntyre revealed once botching a Claymore Kick on Samoa Joe during a WWE Royal Rumble match. While Joe did not say anything to him at the time, he later pulled him aside and had a conversation.
I caught Samoa Joe really bad during the Royal Rumble. To be fair he didn’t say anything, he’s like a man’s man. He just pulled me aside and let me know, ‘Hey brother, you really caught me badly.’ I felt so guilty because you know Joe’s my boy, he’s my brother. There are a few guys I have caught real hard that I didn’t feel so guilty about, but most of the time people are good, but I felt really bad about the one to Joe.”
He then revealed how Sheamus revels in such situations.
I’ve caught Sheamus hard as hell a million times, but he actually enjoys it. I think he gains power the harder you hit.”
McIntyre is set to face Cody Rhodes at Saturday Night’s Main Event on November 1, while Joe is in AEW and recently turned heel.
