Dominik Mysterio has shared a heartbreaking reaction to losing the Intercontinental Championship to John Cena on Raw.
Dominik Mysterio lost the Intercontinental Championship to John Cena on this weekâ€s episode of Raw in Boston. Cena finally captured the one title that had evaded him throughout his career to become a grand slam champion.
It appears the former champion is regretting his choices as Dominik Mysterio took to X/Twitter to react to the loss by posting a gif from the late country artist Johnny Cashâ€s song “Hurt.†He resonated with the songâ€s opening line, “I hurt myself today,†saying he brought it upon himself.
Mysterio won the Intercontinental Championship at WrestleMania 41 and held it for 204 days until losing it to John Cena. However, heâ€s still the reigning AAA Mega Champion.
Cody Rhodes Says Dominik Mysterio Is The Future Of WWE
During a recent appearance on the ALL THE SMOKE podcast, reigning Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes had high praise for Dominik Mysterio.
Rhodes called Dominik Mysterio a special talent and revealed the reigning AAA Mega Champion is viewed internally in WWE as the future of the company.
“Credit to whoever figures out — with load management — whoever figures out how we improve, and Iâ€m seeing it. Dom Mysterio is probably my favorite example,†Cody Rhodes said. “Dom Mysterio does not have the amount of live events that we used to have, although heâ€s working multiple companies for WWE at the moment. Special, special talent.
“Heâ€s somebody thatâ€s often cited internally — I donâ€t think Iâ€m giving anything away here — as somebody whoâ€s gonna be the future of the WWE. Heâ€s one of the ones that when itâ€s said, I believe it. I think Iâ€m gonna come to a WWE show in 15 years and pay money to see and it will probably be Dom Mysterio on the top of the card, because heâ€s figuring out how to do it.†[H/T: Fightful]
